Mother Nature Puts Her Beauty and Power on Display in One Awe-Inspiring Video

Mother Nature never ceases to disappoint. Even when things appear one way, they might be very different. A Florida woman grabbed her phone to take a picture of a double rainbow out her window in Miami and caught video of lightning striking the rainbow. It’s an incredible sight. View this post on Instagram A post shared by ABC News (@abcnews) Seeing Lighting and a Rainbow at the Same Time is Incredibly Rare Lighting and rainbows typically exist in very different conditions. For example, we normally see beautiful colors in the sky after a storm. Rainbows must have perfect conditions to appear. The National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Science explains it well. “A rainbow is caused by sunlight and atmospheric conditions. Light enters a water droplet, slowing down and bending as it goes from air to denser water. The light reflects off the inside of the droplet, separating into its component wavelengths–or colors. When light exits the droplet, it makes a rainbow,” the NESDIS says. Lightning occurs much more frequently, but under different conditions. “We get lightning when ice crystals high in a thunderstorm flow up and down in the turbulent air. This causes them to crash into each other, where small negatively charged particles called electrons are knocked off some ice crystals and added to other ice crystals as they crash past each other. This separates the positive (+) and negative (-) charges of the cloud,” the Climate Adaptation Center explains. The video of the rainbow and lightning colliding is not only rare. It’s beautiful. “Wwoowowowowowo,” someone commented. “Muppet,” another person wrote. Some people took lightning striking between the rainbows as a sign from God. “God is near,” one person shared. “Someone above telling people to get their s— together,” another agreed.
