When we first heard the story, we all worried about baby macaque Punch-kun at the Ichikawa City Zoo in Ichikawa, Japan. His mother abandoned him, his only friend was a stuffed animal, and the other monkeys were mean to him. It was heartbreaking, but everyone kept hope alive that one day, life would improve for Punch. Friends, that day is here. Not only has Punch built friendships, but he’s also taken on a new lady friend. He’s got lots of fans who visit the Ichikawa City Zoo every day. We’d say Punch is the most eligible bachelor at the zoo. The Ichikawa City Zoo shared a photo of Punch with his girlfriend on X. “Punch-kun the Baby Monkey’s Big Adventure After the Punch & Moe Date,” the caption reads. Per the usual, Punch’s fans loved seeing the little monkey happy. “Wholesome,” a fan commented. “If it’s a dream, don’t wake up,” another person wrote. “Whoa, you guys were this lovey-dovey after the date!?” Someone asked. “It’s too precious, I can’t handle it…” “These kids are always getting their faces close together,” a follower joked. “What the World needs now. It’s Love and A Monkey masterclass. Mother Nature may be talking,” another comment reads. We love that Punch has a girlfriend, we hope her intentions are genuine, and she’s not just after him because he’s an International celebrity. Only time will tell.
