53 Veterans Had No Idea What Was Waiting for Them After Their Honor Flight — Their Reactions Said Everything
There are a few jobs that require the same level of sacrifice as those in the military. They often spend extended time away from family and friends to serve their country. Some of them never come home, making the ultimate sacrifice in the fight for our freedom. Veterans are a special group of people who deserve thanks and support that they don’t always get. When Southwest Airlines announced that an Honor Flight was landing with 53 veterans on board, people at the airport gave them an incredible welcome.

Everyone Stopped to Honor the Veterans with a Special Welcome
If you’re looking for a good cry, this video will do it. Suddenly, 53 veterans of varying ages and mobility levels exited the plane to a cheering crowd. It’s a beautiful reminder of what these men and women do for us every single day. It’s easy to see how touched they were by the simple, yet incredibly powerful gesture. As Coffey Anderson’s Mr. Red White and Blue plays, we couldn’t help but tear up in gratitude and awe. Thousands in the comment section felt the same way.
“How we should ALWAYS treat our veterans,” someone wrote.
“It’s the homecoming these Vietnam vets should have gotten the first time they came home,” another person added.
A military wife chimed in about her veteran husband.
“We owe them a huge debt of gratitude. My husband came home injured with no fanfare. He would serve again if he could!” She wrote.
Coffey Anderson commented with pure joy that his song was part of the veterans’ welcome video.
“Thank y’all for using my song, Mr. Red White and Blue” for this video. Patriotism isn’t going anywhere! We love and honor ALL those that served. All gave some. Some gave all,” he wrote.
