Another innocent American is dead because of a dangerous illegal immigrant who was allowed into our country by the Biden regime. On Thursday, 18-year-old student Sheridan Gorman was shot and killed near the Loyola University campus in Chicago, IL. Reportedly, an armed man wearing a mask approached her while she was walking in the park with friends. When she tried to run away, he opened fire and shot her. She died at the scene. Now, Jose Medina-Medina — an illegal alien from Venezuela — has been arrested in connection with the murder. DHS says he was also released from local custody after a shoplifting arrest in the sanctuary city of Chicago on June 19, 2023. DHS identifies the suspect as Venezuelan national Jose Medina-Medina. Medina-Medina is accused of approaching Gorman while she was walking in a park with friends early Thursday morning. DHS says Medina-Medina came up to her while wearing a mask and armed with a gun. As she attempted to flee, he fired his gun and shot her. Gorman was shot and pronounced dead at the scene. DHS statement: “Sheridan Gorman had her whole life ahead of her before this cold-blooded killer decided to end her life. It’s also infuriating how preventable Gorman’s death was. If the Biden administration had deported this individual rather than releasing him three years ago, Sheridan would still be alive. There is no way to soften this—this was murder. Sheridan was the light of our lives. She made people feel seen, safe, and loved simply by being who she was. She lived her faith with kindness, compassion, and joy, and she loved her family and friends deeply. We trusted that she would be safe. That trust was broken. Someone made a deliberate choice that stole our daughter and forever changed our family. We are demanding answers, and we will not stop until the person responsible is identified and brought to justice. We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from the various communities connected to our family. It has carried us through moments we could not endure alone.
