Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough continued his crusade to persuade viewers they had only Republicans to blame for the partial government shutdown and ensuing TSA problems. On Thursday’s edition of the MS NOW’s liberal morning show, Scarborough, once again, ignored the cause of the shutdown was Democrat wish of policy change and ICE reforms, which had led to much of DHS being defunded. Later in the show, after he and his co-host Mika Brzezinski called the SAVE America Act the “rig the elections act,” Scarborough mentioned the DHS shutdown again and said the show didn't think “you’re stupid” unlike other “programs.” As he has been for the past week, Scarborough solely placed blame on Republicans for the TSA issues at airports. He stated, “Democrats keep bringing it to the bill to get rid of this problem, and Republicans keep making this problem worse at the very time.” Scarborough then said Americans were not “too dumb to forget what happened on 9//11 and understand that Iran has promised that they’re going to strike America.”   This morning on MS NOW's Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough yelled in rage at Republicans for being "stupid" amid TSA chaos, ignoring the actual reason for the partial shutdown was the Democrats wish for immigration policy change. pic.twitter.com/yoQhUCCZVt — Nick (@nspin310) March 26, 2026   At this point, Scarborough went into a rage and yelled at Republicans for being “stupid,” with an occasional Brzezinski chime in to keep him on track [Click “expand”]:  SCARBOROUGH: And we are letting down our line of defenses when Republicans have a chance every day, every day to get the TSA agents paid! Every day! You're so stupid. BRZEZINSKI: It's dangerous too.  SCARBOROUGH: First of all, it's dangerous. But politically, you're so stupid. You're so stupid to not force this through and pay our TSA agents. I'm here to tell you, prevent a tragedy from happening. Pay these people, okay? Because guess what? We all - we all can go to the airport and come home. We're fine, we're fine. I was happy to see Mika. We're fine. But TSA agents aren't fine. (...) Scarborough tried to calm himself down as he invoked John Lennon: Yes is the answer, as John Lennon said. And you know that for sure. Can I just finish this top playing your mind games? I love that song. I want to bump out with it.  But Republicans, please help yourself and save Americans. It's that simple. They say yes, and guess what? The TSA agents get paid. These lines go away. And our security against Iranian terror threats, poof. Dissipate. Ah yes, if everybody just said yes to everything, we’d live in paradise. That was just - no masks and, you know, nobody minded them being there. Another co-host of the show, who happens to be his wife, with an intense hatred of ICE may not be as fine with him. I know a lot of you people watch programs that think you're stupid, okay? We don't think you're stupid. We're just going to tell you how it is.  If Republicans had voted yes, if everybody said, “yeah, let's pay our TSA agents,” TSA agents would be paid right now. It's that simple. It really is. There is a constant ignorance of the cause of the shutdown on Morning Joe. The viewers might not all be “stupid” but they are being misinformed. The transcript is below. SCARBOROUGH: And in a time of increased terror threats with Iran saying they're going to strike against American targets globally with the FBI, a couple of months ago, firing the people who knew the most about terror threats from Iran, for whatever stupid reason that was.  We are letting down our defenses at a time we should have double TSA agents, because Iran has been warning us for a decade that they - if we ever attack them, they would strike out against us domestically. And this is what's happening while we're going to war in Iran, while people are waiting three, four hours in line, and they're three or four TSA agents, and Iran is threatening terror attacks against America, and these Americans are not too old or not too dumb to forget what happened on 9/11, and understand that Iran has promised that they're going to strike America.  And we are letting down our line of defenses when Republicans have a chance every day, every day to get the TSA agents paid! Some of them now are being asked to scan people's IDs and get people through. SCARBOROUGH: By the way, I saw the ICE agents yesterday. Totally fine.  GEIST: Yeah. SCARBOROUGH: Totally, totally fine. They had a chance to avert a major security crisis that's coming from Iran now. Certainly our airports, this will be seen as a soft target when you have, what I saw yesterday, four TSA agents handling a line with - that went for three hours and Republicans keep voting no. I want to say it again. Republicans keep voting no. Republicans keep making this happen because they keep voting no for TSA funding. It's just - let's not complicate this. I know a lot of you people watch programs that think you're stupid, okay? We don't think you're stupid. We're just going to tell you how it is.  If Republicans had voted yes, if everybody said, “yeah, let's pay our TSA agents,” TSA agents would be paid right now. It's that simple. It really is. I mean, is Donald Trump going to veto it? If he does, then it'll be Donald Trump. See, that's what it is. They don't want Donald Trump to be exposed as being the guy that vetoes a bill that would pay our TSA agents. So they're trying to protect him from being embarrassed. And what's he doing this morning? He's saying, let's pass the rig the elections act, an act that's not about voter id because I support voter ID. BRZEZINSKI: Not about saving America. SCARBOROUGH: I support voter ID. 85 percent of Americans support a voter ID. Bring your driver's license or some other ID to vote. It makes good sense to me. It always has. But that's not what this bill is. This bill actually stops the type of voting that the president and his own family use, and also disallows 45 states driver's licenses from being used as voter ID. So it's to rig the election. It's plain and simple. And they're holding our TSA agent salaries hostage, Willie. (...).
