THE CRAZY-NUTS BIKERNET WEEKLY NEWS–for March 25th

Hey, It’s been one of those days. The 600th issue of Easyriders is nearly complete. You can’t imagine the details and the folks involved. They all called today and I’ve been so slammed I’m in a daze. Fortunately it’s whiskey night at the headquarters. We added pages to the magazine today. We made the centerspread material match the cover, because of Danial’s special 600 art. I’m still negotiating with the printer. We made final changes to the Dragon art. We caught an issue with the tech tip. The next issue will be devoted to the 250th Anniversary of the country and articles are already lining up. We are chasing credits, details, logos and pages for a missing article. I don’t know what it is, but in one day I can deal with bookkeepers and staff questions, folk who want their bikes featured, girls who want in the magazine. I can receive calls from events happening this weekend and coverage issues, sponsorship requests and the tattoo artist who produces mini-bike hillclimb races. There’s a group after me to kick off Tattoo Magazine again and we still need to make Easyriders profitable and it ain’t easy–but we’re giving it all we got. Let’s hit the news. WHEELS THROUGH TIME ACTION– This month, when you enter the 2026 Annual Raffle through the “Greater Deal” package, you’ll get 2 Admission tickets with your raffle package. At the “Better Deal,” you will get the brand new 2026 Double-Sided Raffle Pennant. And at the “Best Deal” or higher, you will get it all! BIG DEAL AT THE CO2 COALITION– This year may be the most consequential in the CO2 Coalition’s history – an inflection point where philanthropic partnership meaningfully shapes climate and energy policy and the public’s understanding of the issue. Most notably, the Coalition has initiated a legal defense of the Environmental Protection Agency’s February repeal of the Endangerment Finding. The 2009 rule named carbon dioxide a dangerous pollutant and launched regulations that have destroyed jobs and cost Americans billions of dollars. Filed in the D.C. Court of Appeals, where extremists have challenged EPA’s repeal, the Coalition action would present scientific evidence showing the demonization of CO2 to be based on falsehoods. Observers say our case would be a historic first in having the science – and pseudoscience – of the climate issue litigated. The Coalition is represented by nationally recognized law firm Baker & Hostetler, whose attorneys won in 2022 the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case of West Virginia v. EPA. That case held that major regulatory action requires congressional authority, which EPA has concluded it lacked in issuing the Endangerment Finding under the Obama administration. In addition, we will launch our first national television advertising campaign Sunday, March 29, during the premiere of a Newsmax documentary to air at 9:00 p.m. EDT. The documentary, Unsettled: Climate Change’s Real Story, features Coalition Chairman Dr. William Happer and Executive Director Gregory Wrightstone. The campaign ads are designed to improve people’s understanding of carbon dioxide’s essential role in sustaining life. It builds on compelling data that showed a positive 37-point shift in perceptions of CO₂ among viewers exposed to test ads. Expanding the ad campaign’s reach to millions of additional viewers and successfully waging a multi-year legal battle require significant resources. But the stakes are high. These coordinated efforts will counter misinformation, influence public opinion and advance sound science at every level of society, including the nation’s top judiciary. Your support is essential at this pivotal moment. It will directly enable: * A strong legal defense of EPA’s repeal through federal courts * Expanded national media outreach to educate the public * Continued research and advocacy to advance scientific truth This is a historic opportunity to make a lasting impact. With your partnership, we can ensure that honest science and sound policy prevail. Thank you for your continued commitment to our mission. I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you personally about our initiatives and how you can play a critical role. Sincerely,Gregory WrightstoneExecutive Director, CO₂ CoalitionMobile: 12-337-9572wrightstone@co2coalition.org V-TWIN VISIONARY’S– Route 66 Centennial Ride In 2026, the United States celebrates the 100th anniversary of U.S. Route 66, known worldwide as the “Mother Road.” Established on November 11, 1926, the 2,448-mile highway from Chicago, IL to Santa Monica , CA. This very road serves as a living monument to American history, adventure, and the spirit of the open road. V-Twin Visionary is riding it in honor of Route 66’s 100th birthday! And we are inviting YOU to join us! We of course are doing it “our way” and we are doing it backwards. Starting off July 13th at 12 noon in sunny Santa Monica California, we are kickstands up from our staging area at the Santa Monica pier and riding with friends old and new 2,448 miles through California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois ending up in Chicago. If you are interested in joining the fun, contact us via DM or by emailing us directly from the contact page on vtwinvisionary.com. We will have a list of hotels to stay at along the way, daily morning meet-up points, designated lunch stops, as well as a list of motorcycle-friendly, fun, and interesting places to see along the way. Yes, doing this ride is going to be a great time, but as we all know the journey of miles is what this monumental ride is all about. So make plans to join us and be part of this bucket-list event! –V-Twin visionary STURGIS MAYOR RESIGNS DUE TO HEALTH The mayor of Sturgis has resigned due to health reasons. A news release says Mayor Kevin Forrester was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last fall. Forrester sent a letter to the city council notifying them that his resignation is effective immediately. The city council is expected to schedule a special meeting on Wednesday at 6:30pm to discuss his resignation and to figure out a transition plan. –Cale Engelkes Keloland “He grew up in Sturgis and worked hard for the City. I wish him all the best in his final journey.” –Bandit THE COUNTRY BAR FROM THROTTLE ADDICTION–A Country Bar is a staple of Harley-Davidson Knucklehead, Panhead, and Shovelhead frames. You know, just the frames that almost all of chopper history was built upon. In 1936 with the introduction of the Knucklehead, Harley-Davidson began shipping frames with two front legs and a piece of tube bracing the backbone of the frame to the neck casting. That tube came to be known as a “Country Bar…” That’s why when we build Sportster choppers with a hardtail, we like to take the extra step of windowing the neck with our country bar kit to give our builds an old-school chopper look. –Throttle Addiction WHAT’S NEXT–I’m drawing a blank. It tried to snow today. I spoke to brothers in several clubs today. I helped a brother with his Panhead transmission yesterday, and hopefully we resolved the issue. I should step into my shop this weekend and fire up the King bike. A brother said something about a podcast about Easyriders Magazine. I don’t know anything about it. I’ve shut down anything to do with Facebook aside from the Easyriders page. I just find it irritating. I have shit to do. Speaking of shit to do. Tomorrow will be another big day. We’re getting super close to finishing the 600th issue of Easyriders. That’s sorta amazing. The issue is a knockout and the history is amazing. Dave Nichols has taken on the project to promote the Easyriders Archives. That’s 600 issues at your fingertips for a year. Think about that. You can take your phone to the divorce attorney’s office. While you’re hanging out waiting for the attorney, you can scroll through tons of issues and ponder the amazing freedom awaiting you, the girls and the bikes you’ll build in the coming months. It’s fucking amazing. The access to 600 issues fulla bike builds, stories and broads. In the meantime, ride fast and free forever! –Bandit The post THE CRAZY-NUTS BIKERNET WEEKLY NEWS–for March 25th appeared first on Bikernet.com - Online Biker Magazine.
