“We're moving in a different direction.” This was shared with me as I came into work on my last day two months ago. I was shocked, stunned, hurt, angry, and in disbelief when I heard these words.  I was terminated from a job I had only been on for nine months. In all my years of working, I have never been terminated before, and I felt completely blindsided. As I tried to remain composed, I asked a few follow-up questions and quickly cleared my things in my office. I wasn't allowed to say goodbye and wrap up in the way I felt would be most appropriate and professional.My emotions were everywhere, and I had more questions than answers. I asked God, “Why this and why now?” I didn't understand why this was happening for someone who always tries to give their best and has a strong work ethic. After I cried and tried to calm myself, I went home and was so grateful for the support from my husband, family, and friends.You are not alone if you have experienced a sudden or unexpected job loss. While the pain of a job loss may seem unbearable, don't lose hope. God has not forgotten about you; He sees and empathizes with your pain and will help you heal, move forward, and overcome.
