Justin Moore’s “Time’s Ticking” Sets Record For Longest Climb To #1 In Country Radio History With 67 Weeks

Owning a unique piece of country music history. For nearly two decades at this point, Justin Moore has continually flown under the radar as far as mainstream country is concerned. Though he has the smashes to back it up, ranging from early hits like “Small Town USA” and “If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away” in the early 2o1os to “The Ones Who Didn’t Make It Back Home” and “We Didn’t Have Much” in the late 2010s and early 2020s, the Arkansas native never quite got the respect he’s deserved over the years. With 11 #1s, one CMA award for New Artist of the Year in 2014 (five years after his debut album) and over a dozen gold and platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), Moore has had quite the successful career all things considered. Today, however, he’s set an incredibly rare record that has never been done before in the genre with an incredibly rare #1 run. This afternoon, Moore earned his 11th career #1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart with his Dierks Bentley collaboration, “Time’s Ticking,” which rose from #3 to #1 this week and gained a total of 29.9 million audience impressions across radio stations nationwide. If you’re a fan of the “Til My Last Day” singer, you’re probably thinking to yourself, “‘Time’s Ticking? Didn’t that song come out years ago?” — and you’d be right. Despite being released all the way back on October 11, 2024, with the rest of Moore’s eight studio album, This Is My Dirt, “Time’s Ticking” finally went #1 nearly a year and a half after its official release. “Time’s Ticking’s” climb up the chart was so slow, in fact, that it now holds the record for longest-climbing #1 hit in the history of country radio, spending a staggering 67 weeks on the chart before topping it. Moore’s new chart-topper breaks the record previously held by Michael Ray’s “Whiskey and Rain” and Travis Denning’s “After a Few,” both of which took 65 weeks to go #1. In case you were wondering what other #1 hits took over a year to finally top the charts, those would be Scotty McCreery’s “In Between (63 weeks), Dylan Scott’s “Can’t Have Mine” (62 weeks) and Chayce Beckham’s “23” (60 weeks). If nothing else, it’s a fun piece of country music history for the time being. Hell, it might even win you a round of trivia one of these days. “Time’s Ticking” Justin Moore Tour Dates April 16th, 2026 – Southaven, MS – Landers Center April 17th, 2026 – Louisville, KY – KFC Yum!
