Kevin Bacon & Kyra Sedgwick Are BIG Ella Langley Fans, Share Cover Of “Be Her”

Kevin Bacon is an Ella Fella. Ella Langley just released her highly anticipated sophomore record, Dandelion, this week, and it’s exceeding expectations. Starting with the heartfelt intro of “Froggy Went A Cortin’,” to her duet with Miranda Lambert, “Butterfly Season,” which touches on embracing change, everything about this record feels personal. The shift from the tough rock-and-roll exterior Langley has been sporting shows fans a much softer, tender, and profound individual who is thankful for all that has come her way but is still a young person navigating life, wanting to find love, start a family, and live in the present. The album is reaching far beyond country music fans, too, thanks to the success of the record’s lead single “Choosin’ Texas,” and music lovers from all walks of life are thoroughly enjoying this LP. And one of the new Ella Langley fans might surprise you as Footloose actor Kevin Bacon is sharing with the world that he’s an Ella Fella. Bacon recently revealed that he’s an Ella Langley fan by sharing a cover of her previously released single “Be Her.” Written by Ella along with HARDY, Smith Ahnquist, and Jordan Schmidt, the lyrics are quite honest as Ella looks inward and examines the kind of woman she wants to be, and what it might take to get there. She is seeking simplicity over drama, clearly longing to be comfortable in her own skin, and Ella’s co-writer, Hardy, says he knew it would be a hit from the very beginning, and it only took them 30 minutes to write because they were really onto something quickly. The tune resonated heavily with Langley’s female fans, and I have to admit I was shocked to see that Kevin Bacon resonated with it as well. In his cover, he’s strumming the melody on an electric guitar as he inserts clips of his bride, actress Kyra Sedgwick, dancing to the song. “She drinks wine by the glass, not by the bottle She ain’t stuck on the past, ain’t worried about tomorrow She’s a lover, a mother, a sister, and wife She rolls over in the morning to the love of her life Only smokes one on vacation, says just what she thinks She don’t need validation or much of anything…” As Bacon reaches the chorus, Sedgwick sings along with him and adds in some claps right on beat, making the moment feel so wholesome. Ella Langley saw the moment once it gained some traction online and commented: “This is it ” The Ella’s Fellas club is growing rapidly, and Kevin Bacon could soon be the president.
