McDonald’s is Upping its Beverage Game This Spring
McDonald’s may have shut down its CosMc’s locations after less than two years, but fans will still get to enjoy fancy beverages.
In 2023, the chain launched CosMc’s, a space-themed, drive-thru-only restaurant that focused on snacks and customizable drinks. But by mid 2025, all locations closed down, and the concept was abandoned. However, the creative minds behind McDonald’s decided to keep offering new and fun beverages.
“Our fans’ love for McDonald’s beverages runs deep, from rallying for the return of Hi-C Orange Lavaburst to coining the iconic ‘Spicy Sprite.’ Next month, we’re building on that passion with a new era of beverages, featuring a variety of refreshers and crafted sodas rolling out nationwide,” McDonald’s US said in a statement to CBS.
McDonald’s is Adding New Beverages and Slashing Prices
While the chain is keeping many of the new drinks a secret for now, the Wall Street Journal reported that a Mango Pineapple Refresher and a Dirty Dr. Pepper will be included. In August, McDonald’s will also launch a new line of energy drinks.
The news comes after McDonald’s announced its new value meal with $3 lunch combos, a $4 breakfast combo, several menu items priced as low as $1.50, and more. The company hopes the revamp will win back loyal customers after some meal prices jumped to $17, which completely priced out families who are living on a tight budget.
“We’ve listened to customers and adjusted along the way with a relentless focus on delivering leadership in value and affordability,” said McDonald’s President and CEO Chris Kempczinski.
