Joy Behar Tries To Make Fun Of President Trump, Ends Up Insulting Jesus Instead

“The View” is hardly a reliable source of Biblical truth, but that didn’t stop Joy Behar from attempting to lecture the audience and her co-hosts about what Jesus Christ did and didn’t do during His ministry on earth. Naturally, the conversation evolved as part of the panel’s endless criticism of the Trump administration. Behar responded to a controversial image Trump posted to social media, which critics said appeared to portray him as a messianic figure. Here’s what the Daily Mail reported about an exchange between Behar and Sara Haines: Haines took issue with Behar’s swearing that Jesus Christ did not ‘run around saying, “I’m the Messiah, I’m the Messiah”‘ back when he was amassing apostles. All the hosts visibly bristled at the claim, but Haines was the one to blurt, ‘That’s exactly what Jesus said!’ A round of laughs followed, as well as some opposition from Behar. The panel was discussing Donald Trump’s since-deleted AI art image that appeared to depict him as the Prince of Peace. ‘No, he did not,’ Behar insisted. ‘Jesus was not narcissistic like this guy.’ Haines argued that ‘when you are the Messiah, it’s not narcissism to say it!’ ‘Yes, it is,’ Behar maintained – leaving the table temporarily stunned. The moment earned Behar a thorough roasting on social media: If it’s narcissistic to say you are the Messiah if you are the Messiah, is it also narcissistic to say you’re the president if you’re the president? Or a doctor if you’re a doctor? Or an accountant if you’re an accountant? What if you’re specifically asked if you’re the Messiah?… — Mae of the Midwest (@MaeoftheMidwest) April 14, 2026 @ABCNetwork Why are you allowing this on your network?!?!? Now talk trash about Islam. Bet you would stop those hags then. — Matthew Smith (@MattheTraveler) April 15, 2026 "Accidentally" pic.twitter.com/E5JQPyjszw — PPN News (@PPN_News) April 14, 2026 Fox News was among the outlets reporting on the segment, including moderator Whoopi Goldberg’s effort to wrap things up: Trump denied he was trying to portray himself as the Messiah, arguing the image of him in white and red robes with what appears to be holy light emanating from his hands was an attempt to portray “me as a doctor.” He has since deleted the post. Following the exchange between Behar and Haines on Tuesday, co-host Whoopi Goldberg interjected, declaring she was “going to move this along.” “The Pope has God with him,” Goldberg said. “God will take care of this. God will take care of him,” she added, before appearing to address Trump directly, saying, “Nobody believes you were a doctor. Nobody. Not even your people. Your people don’t believe it. Nobody believes it.” Here’s some additional commentary surrounding the exchange:
