Is Morgan Wallen Really “MAGA”? Here’s Everything He’s ACTUALLY Said About Politics

Is he really MAGA, or do people just say that because they don’t like him? Morgan Wallen is obviously a polarizing figure in country music. He’s undeniably the biggest superstar in the genre right now, and if it weren’t for Taylor Swift he would have a good case for being the biggest artist in the world. That’s just an undeniable fact based on the numbers: Nobody else is really close. But he’s also had a number of well-publicized controversies that have turned a lot of people off, and he’s alienated a lot of people in the country sphere by leaning more into pop and rap sounds in his music. Then there are people who simply hate him for his politics. Morgan is frequently criticized as “MAGA” by trolls online, and anyone who associates with him is immediately branded with the same scarlet letter: I mean, just look at the reaction to Ella Langley announcing that she has a collaboration with Morgan coming out this week. all fandoms needs to come together to end that maga country singer right now????!! stream and buy drop dead https://t.co/Dwd6WKoSdY — . (@shittymagazine) April 20, 2026 Megan will never see the success Ella has. And if being around MAGA men makes you one, she even dated one. You're a moron. — Dato Protegido (@veravalladolid) April 20, 2026 https://twitter.com/girlyteenlady/status/2046175907677720778 now that she's collabing with Morgan Wallen we can assume she's MAGA so wdc https://t.co/YznJvhzF82 — mason ✰ AG8 IS COMING (@masonsvie) April 19, 2026 It’s all so stupid. But it’s even dumber because…Morgan has never really said anything about his own politics. A recent idiotic article by New York Magazine and Vulture called the “Last Night” singer “coded red,” even they were forced to admit that he “neither embraces nor denounces MAGA.” That’s a long-winded way of saying that Morgan doesn’t talk politics and we know nothing about his political beliefs. So what HAS Morgan actually said about his politics? Well, not much. The only remotely political statement Morgan has made was back in 2020, when he called out the hypocrisy of Joe Biden supporters gathering in large crowds to celebrate his win over Donald Trump while live music was still shut down: “The hypocrisy is unreal. If you don’t agree with me, fine. We can still be friends. But I have a family, band and crew that need to be provided for and taken care of. If it’s OK for us to party in the streets with no ‘social distancing,’ then we can book shows right now.” (Then again, a lot of people were frustrated with social distancing guidelines and their seemingly-uneven enforcement by that point). More recently though, Morgan took aim at both sides of the aisle with “Working Man’s Song” from his 2025 I’m the Problem album: “Red, blue, right, left, they still workin’ us to death And whatever’s left over at the end’s to the IRS” Then there’s the “guilt by association” argument. Unfortunately there’s a large portion of our society (mainly the chronically online trolls) who think that if you hang out or otherwise associate with someone who supports Trump, you’re automatically a right-wing MAGA bigot who needs to be canceled. Of course the reality is that most normal, healthy people have friends on both sides of the aisle, and Morgan doesn’t appear to be any different. He’s collaborated with artists from across the political spectrum: Eric Church doesn’t seem to be particularly MAGA, and has received backlash in the past from those on the right for comments criticizing the NRA and encouraging fans to get the COVID vaccine. I don’t think anybody is claiming that Lil Durk is “MAGA” (and in fact he’s criticized the president in the past for his comments on Chicago), and Morgan is rumored to have a collaboration on the way with Drake, who has openly bashed Trump. Morgan has never endorsed a political candidate or otherwise waded into elections – or really any other political issues. It seems that his reputation for being “MAGA” is more others projecting those political views onto him, whether by his associations or his music. He appears to have friends in the music business from across the political spectrum, like any normal adult, and if I had to guess I’d say he probably doesn’t really care much about politics in general. Yet somehow, Morgan has been lumped in with the Jason Aldeans and Kid Rocks of the world, despite the fact that nobody really even knows his political beliefs. It seems that a lot of people WANT him to be MAGA so that it confirms their hatred for him, but that’s just projection at this point and not really based on anything Morgan has confirmed. Unfortunately, that’s where we’re at as a society: People have to know your politics before deciding whether they’ll accept you or not. There are too many people who just need to get off social media and go touch grass. The post Is Morgan Wallen Really “MAGA”?
