War Department Personnel Injured In Bus Crash Near Pentagon

Nearly two dozen people were injured, including War Department employees, when two commuter buses crashed head-on at the Pentagon Metro Station Friday morning. Authorities said that 18 people were transported to the hospital to get evaluated after the crash, and five people were treated on the scene, according to ABC’s 7News DC. Ten of those injured in the crash were War Department employees, authorities said. The crash occurred at around 7:20 a.m. ET at the south parking lot of the Pentagon Metro Station. The buses were reportedly traveling at low speed, and most of the injuries were minor, but at least one passenger was taken to a trauma center with more serious injuries, 7News reported. Officials asked commuters to take alternate routes to the Pentagon as first responders and investigators remain on the scene. The buses involved in the crash were an OmniRide bus and a Fairfax Connector transit bus. This is a developing story and will be updated.
