Fans Are Divided After Zach Bryan Calls Out “Karen” Demanding Partial Refund For Weather Delays & Shortened Set In Nebraska
When he’s actually got his accounts online, Zach Bryan is a social media menace.
Safe to say the country music star has a love-hate relationship with social media. He’s great about using it to stay connected with his fan base, but on occasion, he tires of the constant drama an online presence can provide, and deletes or deactivates his accounts on the regular. Thankfully, this was one of those times where Bryan had his X account (formerly Twitter) active, and clapped back at some fans who were upset.
This past weekend, Zach Bryan and his band were set to play in Lincoln, Nebraska at Memorial Stadium in front of tens of thousands of fans. It was a stop along Bryan’s With Heaven On Tour, and was supposed to feature Kings of Leon and J.R. Carroll as openers. The volatile, springtime weather in Nebraska had other plans.
Lingering thunderstorms in the area caused a three hour delay, and because of the lengthy weather delay, both openers were unable to play. It was a bummer for fans, without a doubt, but Zach Bryan made sure that the main part of the show still went on… even if it was hours later than scheduled. Sometime after 10 o’clock in Nebraska, Zach Bryan and his band went on stage.
Most of the crowd stuck around for the show, and once the concert got going, it was an electric atmosphere. Heavy rain moved back into the area late into the night (and early morning of the next day), which forced Bryan to cut his set list short. However, he still pulled off an encore performance of “Revival,” while rain absolutely poured from the sky.
It made for quite the moment, as you can see in this video below:

That’s a core memory for thousands of Zach Bryan fans right there.
The country star later took to social media to apologize for cutting his set short because of the weather. In reality, fans still got to hear most of the show, besides a handful of songs that were skipped over because of the heavy rain and storms moving back into the area. All in all, 20 of the 26 songs on the setlist made the concert, but Bryan made sure to still apologize for the shortened performance:
“I’m sorry for cutting the set short tonight! Lightning came in fast! We only missed the last six! I love you guys, the rain was a blast.”

I’m glad Zach Bryan enjoyed the rain… because let’s just say some fans weren’t so happy about it.
One even replied to the above post and declared that partial refunds for the show should be given, since the full set list wasn’t played and the delay caused the concert to pour over into the next morning. Apparently, fans want a pro-rated ticket based on the number of expected song?
“Partial refunds need to be given… I know a lot of this was out of your control but we got half a show. Very disappointing.”

How did Zach Bryan respond to that?
Well, never one to shy away from clap back, he clicked “quote post” and sent back this message to that disgruntled fan:
“Karen ahhhh tweet.”

For the uninitiated, calling someone a “Karen” usually means that the person is giving off entitled, let-me-speak-to-the-manager vibes.
Zach Bryan had to feel good about firing that one back. He can’t control the weather, and did all he could to still play the show that night. Despite that, another person replied to his “Karen” clap back, and said this:
“What a scum response to a fan who probably waited all night to see you and the opening artists, I paid over a thousand dollars to see this show and waited in my car for over 4 hours. Minimal communication by the stadium and Zach Bryan himself. Ridiculous.”

From what I could tell, communication from the stadium was great (they even let people seek shelter in the Nebraska football team’s indoor facility), and Bryan was sending off updates through social media as often as he could. So you know how he responded to that criticism? If you guessed with another “Karen” jab, you’d be correct:
“Karen ahhhh tweet.”

Zach Bryan: Country music superstar and “Certified Karen Caller Outer.”
To be fair, Zach played 20 songs, and despite delays, sounds like they did everything they could to get the show going during a literal lightning storm…. which Zach also pointed out:
there were fuckn lighting bolts?? Above?? Our?? Heads?? https://t.co/6lnB4sPaBx pic.twitter.com/wBbtl9vGJd

But that didn’t stop fans from arguing in the comments… with some taking Zach’s side, and other’s calling him out for being allegedly “rude” with the Karen comment. Here’s a quick look:
