49 Winchester Shares Heartfelt Single, “Oh Savannah,” Ahead Of Upcoming Album Release
These Virginia boys don’t miss.
Earlier this year, Winchester announced their forthcoming studio record, Change Of Plans, which is right around the corner from release and will be available to listen to in full next week on May 15. As 2025 came to a close, 49 Winchester announced they had signed with MCA Records through its Lucille Records imprint, which is run by producer extraordinaire Dave Cobb, the Chief Creative Officer. No one has put in more work than they have to get to this point, and frontman Isaac Gibson says they’re “thrilled” to be working with Cobb:
“We’re thrilled to be joining the MCA and Lucille family. Working with Dave Cobb is a dream, and we can’t wait for our fans to hear the new music we’re creating together.”
Chase Chafin, 49 Winchester bassist and co-founder, thanked the fans for all of their support in helping get to this point:
“So grateful to the fans and team who helped us build this to where it is today. We couldn’t be more excited for MCA to be the home of future 49 Winchester releases, and to share this next chapter with those who made it possible.”
49 Winchester’s rise has been slow but steady, solidifying that they will be one of the most important country bands of this decade. Each album they’ve shared is a stepping stone to another realm of success; they’re poised to take another leap as they gear up for the release of their sixth record, Change of Plans.
Since the announcement of this album, 49 has proved to fans that this project is going to be something very special with the release of the lead single, “Pardon Me,” “Slowly,” and today, the final single until the project’s release, “Oh Savannah.”
Penned by frontman Isaac Gibson, Jessie Jo Dillon, and Chris Tompkins, the narrator is wrestling with missing out on a great love as he writes late at night. As he’s putting pen to paper, his mind is occupied by this captivating woman, Savannah, hoping that one day they will become a couple and finalize what could be a great love story.
“Oh Savannah
Remember that one night?
Laid our backs against the dunes
Counting every star in sight
Wish I may
I wish I might
Have this wish I wish tonight
That you could finally see
What you mean to me
Oh Savannah”
The tender song features a very soft, traditional melody that lets Isaac Gibson’s vocals shine. His twangs and perfect pitch take over your speakers as you listen to this one, and you feel the longing in his tone that he hopes to call Savannah his one day.
“Oh Savannah” shows the diversity of sound that 49 Winchester possesses, laying down honky tonk heaters or dialing it back for a more serious, heartfelt song. This was the perfect single to release before gifting fans their forthcoming LP.
