Lainey Wilson Says Her Wedding Plans Are Starting To Come Together: “Having So Much Fun With Pinterest”

Sounds like things are starting to come together. In addition to being a very busy country music superstar, Lainey Wilson is in the midst of planning a wedding with her fiancé Devlin “Duck” Hodges, whom she got engaged to last February. They dated for about four years  before getting engaged, and during a party celebrating her radio hit “4X4XU,” Lainey previously shared details about the proposal that happened at the stunning George Jones estate the week after the Super Bowl. She has said several times in public interviews that the wedding planning had kind of gotten put on the back burner since the engagement just because she’s so busy, but it sounds like the plans are in motion now, and in speaking with Southern Living recently, Lainey says she’s been “having a blast” with the planning process, and all of the details are coming together, so it sounds like it might be happening sooner rather than later: “We’ve been having a blast with it. Still a few things to take care of, but we’re in the fun part where the little details start coming together. I keep thinking about having all our friends and family in one place, and that’s what makes it feel really special.” At the end of the day, Lainey’s just a girl, and she says she’s been loving Pinterest lately to get some ideas: “I’ve honestly been having so much fun with Pinterest, it’s kind of my go-to when I’m dreaming things up. I love how you can start with one idea and suddenly end up down a rabbit hole of colors, textures, fashion, flowers, and things you didn’t even know you were looking for.” She revealed that they will be using “moodier, earthy tones” for colors, but she is a country music star, so of course, she will be “mixing in a little shimmer here and there to keep it fun and unexpected.” Lainey explained that she and Duck want their friends and family to really be part of their day, “not just watching it,” and she says there will be some “hands-on moments” to get everybody involved. Being from Louisiana, there are plenty of Southern traditions that are unique to weddings in the South, and Lainey will be incorporating some of those too: “I grew up in a tiny town in Louisiana where everybody knows everybody, tradition is part of everything we do. They may not be the traditions everyone else is used to, but they’re special to us.” Lainey hasn’t shared the wedding date publicly, so it’s unclear when it’s going to take place, but I’m sure we’ll get to see tons of pictures after and I can’t wait to see what she wears, of course. In addition to the wedding planning, Lainey just released a documentary on Netflix, and she’s been on the road some too and will open for Chris Stapleton at several stops this summer.
