President Trump has a good memory. On Wednesday, President Trump was taking questions from the press when he noticed Fox News White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich in the crowd. As Trump noticed that Heinrich was in the press pool, he quickly called out the correspondent’s fiancé, Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick. Trump stated that Heinrich’s fiancée, Rep. Fitzpatrick, constantly votes against his agenda and asked Heinrich what was up with him. The Hill provided more details on the interaction: President Trump taunted a Fox News reporter on Wednesday over her relationship with a Republican congressman and his record of breaking with the president on key votes. In a gaggle with reporters, Trump responded to an unrelated question by taking a personal jab at Fox News senior White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich, who announced her engagement last year to Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.). “Her husband votes against me all the time. Can you imagine? I don’t know what’s with him. You better ask him what’s with him,” Trump said, apparently referring to Heinrich’s fiancé as her husband. “He likes voting against Trump,” the president added. “You know what happens with that. It doesn’t work out well.” Trump’s thinly veiled threat against Fitzpatrick comes on the heels of several victories against Republican lawmakers who openly defied him. After Trump successfully backed primary challenges against most Indiana state senators who opposed his GOP-friendly redistricting plan, the president helped oust Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.). But Fitzpatrick — one of three House Republicans representing districts carried by former Vice President Kamala Harris in 2024 — faced no primary challenger this year and won renomination on Tuesday. Pennsylvania Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick on Wednesday pledged to torpedo Trump’s $1.8 billion deal with the DOJ just hours after the president disrespected the congressman’s wife, Fox News correspondent Jacqui Heinrich. Heinrich had tried to ask Trump earlier in the day whether he’d had a call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, but the president ignored her and instead went on a long diatribe against Fitzpatrick. “Well, her husband votes against me all the time. Can you imagine?” Trump said, apparently addressing the other reporters. The 79-year-old president continued rambling, “I don’t know what’s with him. You better ask what’s with him. Her husband, she’s married to a certain congressman. He likes voting against Trump. You know what happens with that? Doesn’t work out well. I don’t know why he does.” He then took a question from another reporter asking about Taiwan. While Trump claimed that Heinrich, 37, and Fitzpatrick, 52, are married, a Fox News spokesperson told The Philadelphia Inquirer that the pair are still engaged.
