Rep. Nancy Mace got completely demolished in the South Carolina governor primary tonight. She lost big-time to not one, or two, or three — but four other GOP candidates. In fact, she earned only 11.3% of the vote before she formally conceded the election. Here’s a look at the results: NEWS: Rep. Nancy Mace announced she is endorsing South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson for governor after conceding her race Tuesday night. Mace has had some disagreements with President Trump in the past, and was instrumental in the House push to release the Epstein files. “I voted to release the Epstein files and lost some support for that,” she said. Pamela Evette and Alan Wilson are heading to a runoff in South Carolina’s Republican primary for governor after none of the six candidates in the primary reached the required majority threshold of votes to avoid a runoff. The runoff election will be June 23. Along with Alan Wilson, Trump-endorsed Pamela Evette advanced to a run-off. Evette received the most votes, at roughly 29% compared to Wilson’s 26%. The New York Post provided more background: President Trump endorsed Evette in the race to succeed term-limited Gov. Henry McMaster on May 29, in a massive blow to the four other Republicans in the primary field, including Mace. The competition for the coveted endorsement from the commander-in-chief was fierce and a focal point of the race. Throughout the primary campaign, Mace and Evette, in particular, attempted to position themselves as the most Trump-aligned candidate in the race. Both prominently featured Trump on campaign material well before the president made an endorsement in the race. “It’s good to have President Trump’s back,” Evette said last August, in her first campaign ad of the cycle. “I’ve backed him from Day One.” Mace, who touts her 2024 congressional campaign endorsement from Trump on her social media and website, accused Evette at the time of misleading voters. “Pamela Evette is NOT ENDORSED by DONALD TRUMP. Do not believe her LIES,” the congresswoman fumed in an X post the same day the president would go on to back Evette in the race. Evette had been the front-runner in the race in the weeks leading up to Trump’s endorsement, according to polling. Rep. Mace is now out of the governor race, and she will be leaving Congress at the end of her term. As a survivor, I chose to stand on principle and stand against the Epstein cover-up. I chose to expose the names hidden in the sexual harassment slush fund. I chose to expose DEI judges. I chose to expose the abusers of children. And apparently, I chose wrong if the goal was winning an election. I’m at peace with that. Because when a candidate is OK with corruption and cover-ups – something is broken. That’s not a political opinion. That’s a moral emergency. I will always be grateful for the people of South Carolina who trusted me, fought with me, and refused to look the other way. This isn’t the end of the fight. It’s just the end of this chapter.
