Whoopi Goldberg Urges Votes for Candidates to Impeach Trump
ABC’s “bona fide news program” The View once again tried to put their crone thumbs on the scales of American electoral politics on Thursday. Moderator Whoopi Goldberg made an impassioned plea for viewers at home and their studio audience to elect candidates who would vote to impeach President Donald Trump and remove him from office. To drive the point home, Goldberg looked into the camera and told Trump, “You got to go! It's time!”
Building up to her get out the vote effort, Goldberg whined about Trump’s administration spending money, as if no president before him had added to the debt and deficit. She also seemed to think that his spending was actively taking money from people’s accounts:
GOLDBERG: You know, people forget, you can't just keep coming to the taxpayers. We are not a wallet. We are every one of us are working our tails off, we're taking care of our families, we're trying to get everything done that we can get done for our families safely and well. And you keep coming to us for some --
SUNNY HOSTIN: Some nonsense.
SARA HAINES: Productive works. Stuff.
GOLDBERG: For not smart stuff.
HOSTIN: Yeah!
She proceeded to argue that Trump wasn’t allowed to build a ballroom or repair the reflecting pool because none of the co-hosts nor their audience had those things:
I don't have a ballroom. You don't have a ballroom. Nobody in this room has -- I don't think -- has a ballroom. None of these folks are making over their reflector pools or building giant arches in their backyards. They're trying to feed their families. They're trying to put gas car. They're trying to get to work but you keep cutting jobs and getting mad that there's not enough people to do stuff.
Whoopi argues Trump isn't allowed to build a ballroom or fix the reflecting pool because the cast nor average Americans have those things.
She then demands Trump be removed from office and tells people to vote for candidates who will do that, disparages Republicans. pic.twitter.com/c6kPtVat7U

It’s unclear if she thought Air Force One, Marine One, Secret Service, and the Oval Office should be taken away since none of them in that studio had those either.
“You got to go! It's time!” Goldberg bitterly proclaimed. “A lot of people put all their hopes and dreams in you. And now, their hopes and dreams have taken the backseat to insane stuff for this country.”
Looking toward the studio audience, Goldberg gave them a pep talk. “Y'all, you have the power to make this change,” she said. “You have the power. Don't let somebody tell you, ‘oh, this is gerrymandered and you don't have a place here.’ Every vote in this country counts. I don't care what anybody tells you. Go and exercise your right!”
While Goldberg did say “vote for whoever you decide” she made it clear she had a preference and Republicans were not it: “I've known Republicans and independents my whole life and I've been friends with them. This is different. This is different.”
Goldberg instructed viewers to “do your homework” because “We cannot afford it this time. We cannot afford it.”

GOLDBERG: You know, people forget, you can't just keep coming to the taxpayers. We are not a wallet. They're trying to get to work but you keep cutting jobs and getting mad that there's not enough people to do stuff.
You got to go! It's time!
[Cheers and applause]
You know and I say that with all due respect. I say it with all due respect. I say it with all due respect. A lot of people put all their hopes and dreams in you. And now, their hopes and dreams have taken the backseat to insane stuff for this country. So please, sir, sorry, sir, please, y'all, you have the power to make this change.
SOPHIA BUSH: Yes.
HOSTIN: Yeah.
GOLDBERG: You have the power. Don't let somebody tell you, ‘oh, this is gerrymandered and you don't have a place here.’ Every vote in this country counts. I don't care what anybody tells you. Go and exercise your right!
[Applause]
Exercise your right to vote for whoever you decide, because there's a lot of folks - and this is something that I try to say all the time. I've known Republicans and independents my whole life and I've been friends with them. This is different.
BUSH: Yes.
GOLDBERG: This is different. So do your homework. Find out who last your best interests and please, please don't sit back. We cannot afford it this time. We cannot afford it.
