Asserting that a peace agreement was just “hours” away, President Donald Trump this week recounted his terse conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu amid tense negotiations with Iran. As Fox News reported, Trump described the phone call during an interview on Sunday: Trump made the comments in an interview with Fox News’ Trey Yingst, who cautioned that Iran has backed away from negotiations at the last minute multiple times. Yingst noted that the tensions between Israel and Iran are an “x-factor” for the negotiations after Israel launched strikes against Hezbollah targets in Beirut, a red line for Iran. Trump publicly condemned Israel’s strikes earlier Sunday and called on Israel and all other parties to cease hostilities. Trump told Yingst that he spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu directly. “What the f— are you doing?” Trump says he told Netanyahu.
