Jelly Roll Addresses Divorce From Bunnie Xo During New York Show: “Nobody Cheated On Nobody… That Will Be My Best Friend Forever”

Setting the record straight. There have been all kinds of rumors flying around since news broke earlier this week that Jelly Roll filed for divorce from his wife of 10 years, Bunnie Xo. On Monday, TMZ broke the news that Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, filed for divorce from his wife Bunnie Xo, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, back on May 18 in Williamson County Chancery Court, just outside of Nashville. Whiskey Riff obtained a copy of the divorce complaint that was filed by the “Save Me” singer, which reveals that the couple separated on May 9, a week and a half before the request for a divorce was filed. He cites “irreconcilable differences” as the grounds for the divorce, which in Tennessee is a no-fault grounds for divorce that means that the parties agree on the terms of the separation. With so little information out there, the internet sleuths quickly began trying to figure out what happened, which led to a lot of ridiculous rumors. (No, they’re not getting a divorce because they’re being sued and need to protect their assets. That’s not how that works). Of course many people speculated that one party cheated on the other, and some were even convinced that Bunnie was in a relationship with Nickelback lead singer Chad Kroeger, a rumor she quickly shot down tonight on an episode of her Dumb Blonde Podcast. As Bunnie explained, while the decision to split wasn’t necessarily mutual, it’s been as amicable as anyone can hope for during a difficult thing like a divorce – so amicable that they’re still planning on having a baby together. And tonight during his show in Saratoga Springs, New York, Jelly Roll spoke about the separation for the first time too. During the stop on his Little Ass Shed Tour, Jelly Roll confirmed what Bunnie said on her podcast: That they’re still best friends, despite the fact that they’re getting a divorce. “I wasn’t going to talk about this tonight, but while we’re talking about liars, the internet is a liar too. … Me and my wife are best friends. We will always be best friends. We just got off the phone earlier today. Nobody cheated on nobody. She just did a whole podcast about it, you can go watch it, every word of it is the truth. That will be my best friend forever. This is the only time I will ever speak about it. Bunnie, I love you baby. Thank you for those 10 years, they were incredible. Thank you for the next 10 years of friendship, and 20 beyond that.” @officialjellyroll Don’t believe everything you read on the internet ♬ original sound – Jelly Roll So there you have it. During her podcast, Bunnie also addressed internet rumors that Jelly is dating 21-year old fellow singer Jessie Murph, with whom he’s teamed up in the past including on their duet “Wild Ones.” “That is absolutely f—ing kind of disgusting, guys. … That’s a 20 year age gap, and that’s just disrespectful.” But then she revealed that while he’s not dating Murph, he has already moved on to other relationships: “Has my husband started dating? Yes, he has, and we’re happy for him.” And later in the podcast, she addressed the fact that he was back on the market: “Daddy Roll is probably in his finest season, right? Like, I mean, the man looks great. He’s feeling himself. He looks so good. He is healthier than he’s ever been. … Jay is a little lover. He likes to snuggle and he likes to cuddle. … My husband is ready to date. He is rearing and ready to go. He’s all hopped up on testosterone, let me tell you. And he’s ready to go. He’s even started dating, which is great. I love that. His DMs are open. Go to freaking his Instagram … and go send that motherf—er a DM. Like, you guys don’t be scared. Shoot your shot. I will be the ex-wife and we’ll have a great time.” Bunnie says that she’s ready to welcome anyone who “comes correct” – but also issued a warning: “If you come correct and you are not being sneaky, if you come with respect and you’re not being sneaky and you’re not lying to him about anything, I will welcome you with open arms. But if you are a b—h who is lying straight up the first time you meet my husband…” She stopped herself as she realized she was still calling him “her husband,” but reiterated that she only wants the best for Jelly Roll: “He needs a really sweet girl who is normal and isn’t f—ing trying to be a social media f—ing influencer.” There you have it. Nothing salacious, no affair, no cheating, and they’re still friends. Most amicable divorce in the history of divorces.
