AS THE POOL TURNS: CBS, ABC Now Reporting on…Peeling Paint?
Algae at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool has once again captured the imagination of the Elitist Media Evening News, with accompanying significant coverage. In the process, other more pressing stories get boxed out of coverage.
Watch as ABC dispatches Jon Karl to cover this national emergency:
Trump-deranged @ABCWorldNews continues to cover the algae bloom at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool as though it were a national emergency:

DAVID MUIR: We turn now to the reflecting pool on the National Mall. Tonight, not only has the new blue turned green. Tonight, reports the new paint is now peeling after $14 million was just spent to paint the pool and renovate it. Here's Jon Karl
JON KARL: Tonight, Washington's iconic reflecting pool is looking dirty and green. A brand new coat of blue paint already peeling off the bottom. All told, they spent $14 million to paint the bottom of this reflecting pool American Flag Blue. But if you take a look, not only is the green of the algae come back, but look at that American Flag Blue in the paint. It's actually starting to peel. It's coming up. No comment on that yet from The White House. The company that painted the pool had virtually no experience as a federal contractor.
DONALD TRUMP: It’ll last for 50 to 100 years before you have to do anything.
KARL: By last week, the pool was blue and beautiful. Two days later, it started to turn green. Four days after that, algae everywhere. Today workers were wading through the pool, cleaning out the algae and the dirt. Just last night, the Trump administration said, and this is an exact quote: “The reflecting pool water is crystal clear.” Well, the crews are working hard to try to make that happen here. But we've walked all around this reflecting pool. And let me tell you, David, it is far from crystal clear.
MUIR: All right. Jon Karl at the pool tonight. Jon, thanks.
CBS covered the algae bloom on the Evening News but did not dispatch, say, Robert Costa to splash around in Reflecting Pool water. Instead, anchor Tony Dokoupil did a brief:
WATCH: @CBSEveningNews ran yet another story on the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool
TONY DOKOUPIL: More problems tonight with our great national home improvement project. It's not just algae in the reflecting pool at the foot of the Lincoln Memorial. Now the $14 million paint… pic.twitter.com/3eYT2IuMFk

TONY DOKOUPIL: More problems tonight with our great national home improvement project. It's not just algae in the reflecting pool at the foot of the Lincoln Memorial. Now the $14 million paint job seems to be peeling, with American Flag Blue coming off the bottom.
NBC Nightly News had the decency not to shove another Reflecting Pool item down America’s throats. Instead, they profiled today’s Congressional Medal of Honor recipients.
It’s clear that this story is driven by Trump Derangement, and the sweet dopamine crack hits that the Elitist Media get from pointing at a Trump initiative gone sideways and going “ha-ha.” Why else is Jon Karl traipsing around the reflecting pool? Or Ryan Nobles, for that matter? For their next performance, are they going to don waders and go into the Reflecting Pool?
Compare this obsessive coverage with their nonexistent coverage of what appears to be a Democrat failure: the massive raw sewage spill into the Potomac. It took the Elitist Media evening news a month before they covered the enormous flow of excrement into the Potomac, and then they dropped the story like a hot potato.
Cleanup of the Potomac is still ongoing, and repairs have begun on yet another section of that same Interceptor pipeline. But you won’t hear about that on the Elitist Media evening news. It’s (D)ifferent like that.
