“Y’all Thought We Were Going To Hate Each Other?” – Jelly Roll Addresses Divorce With A Plot Twist In New Vlog
Co-signing everything she said.
By now everybody’s probably sick of hearing about the bombshell divorce between Jelly Roll and his wife, Bunnie Xo. To be honest I’m sick of writing about it, but as long as it’s news and it’s getting attention, I guess it’s what we’ve got to cover.
On Monday, TMZ broke the news that Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, filed for divorce from his wife Bunnie Xo, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, back on May 18 in Williamson County Chancery Court, just outside of Nashville.
Whiskey Riff obtained a copy of the divorce complaint that was filed by the “Save Me” singer, which reveals that the couple separated on May 9, a week and a half before the request for a divorce was filed. He cites “irreconcilable differences” as the grounds for the divorce, which in Tennessee is a no-fault grounds for divorce that means that the parties agree on the terms of the separation.
With so little information out there, the internet sleuths quickly began trying to figure out what happened, which led to a lot of ridiculous rumors. (No, they’re not getting a divorce because they’re being sued and need to protect their assets. That’s not how that works).
Of course many people speculated that one party cheated on the other, and some were even convinced that Bunnie was in a relationship with Nickelback lead singer Chad Kroeger, a rumor she quickly shot down tonight on an episode of her Dumb Blonde Podcast.
As Bunnie explained, while the decision to split wasn’t necessarily mutual, it’s been as amicable as anyone can hope for during a difficult thing like a divorce – so amicable that they’re still planning on having a baby together.
Jelly spoke about the separation for the first time earlier this week during the stop on his Little Ass Shed Tour, confirming what Bunnie said on her podcast: That they’re still best friends, despite the fact that they’re getting a divorce.
“I wasn’t going to talk about this tonight, but while we’re talking about liars, the internet is a liar too. …
Me and my wife are best friends. We will always be best friends. We just got off the phone earlier today. Nobody cheated on nobody. She just did a whole podcast about it, you can go watch it, every word of it is the truth.
That will be my best friend forever. This is the only time I will ever speak about it.
Bunnie, I love you baby. Thank you for those 10 years, they were incredible. Thank you for the next 10 years of friendship, and 20 beyond that.”

And yesterday he dropped a new vlog addressing the separation – kind of.
In the video, titled “Divorce Vlog,” Jelly promises to address the situation at the end of the vlog. And after showing off tour footage, he delivers on his promise:
“I told y’all I was gonna give you all the piping hot tea about the divorce. I know y’all been waiting. You ready for it?”
He then holds up his phone – and Bunnie is on the other line:
“Mama bear, tell ’em where to find it.”
Bunnie directs anybody who’s interested in the tea to listen to her podcast, and Jelly signs off by telling her he loves her:
“Y’all thought we were going to hate each other, didn’t you? Plot twist, b–ches. Love you baby.”
There you have it. Check out the podcast, and know that Jelly Roll signed off on whatever Bunnie said. The post “Y’all Thought We Were Going To Hate Each Other?” – Jelly Roll Addresses Divorce With A Plot Twist In New Vlog first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
