RD80s News: ThunderCats.org has relaunched

Eyes to the skies, ThunderCats fans... the signal is back! After three years lost in the Third Earth wilderness, ThunderCats.org is loose again with a brand-new look and a pride of new features for the modern fandom. From Super7 and Mezco One:12 toys, Iron Studios statues, and Dynamite comics to new podcasts and publications featuring ThunderCats writers and crew members, so much is happening right now! There's never been a better time to relaunch the largest fan site and news source for all things ThunderCats.First launched in 2005 by an international team of ThunderCats fans, including current site director, Mark Sheard, under the name ThunderCats Lair, "the Org" has always been a collaborative effort. Collectors, artists, writers and web designers pooled their resources to build a home for cartoon and toy information, production materials, interviews and more, while also hosting community forums for fan conversation and engagement. With so much going on for the property, Mark and his team decided to relaunch the site to give the community a more modern home on the web."Fans have spread out across the internet," says community liaison Zack Ramadan. "In some ways that's been great! A constellation of specialized content creators has helped grow the fandom. But there's been no single trusted destination for both news and knowledge. The Org is that missing hub."The ThunderCats.Org brand has seen tremendous growth on Instagram over the past few years thanks to the efforts of social media manager Egmond du Plessis, whose #WeWantMoreThunderCats campaign captured fan and industry attention a decade ago ahead of Super7 acquiring the toy license. Over the past few years, Egmond has seen the fandom grow in new and exciting ways."New figures and comics have fans all over the world more excited than ever for the future of ThunderCats," says Egmond. "Relaunching the Org means those fans will have easier access to richer content, like interviews and reviews, and an easy way to talk about it on the revamped forums."Those discussions, with thousands of posts dating back twenty years, are fully preserved. Fans will be able to log back in (maybe after a quick password reset) and pick up where they left off. Logging in will also unlock new site features, like a personalized toy shelf currently in beta that will let fans track and share their collections. Integrations with merchants like BigBadToyStore will also make it easier for collectors to locate and purchase items they might be missing. The new ThunderCats.org is live now, with news and updates posting regularly. Bookmark the homepage, follow @thundercatsorg on socials and stop by the forums to shout, "ThunderCats, HO!"
