People Who Don’t Understand Dry Humor Or Sarcasm Are Ripping Riley Green For Appearance On Theo Von’s Podcast

Have y’all ever heard of… sarcasm? This week, is Riley Green is the guest on Theo Von’s This Past Weekend podcast, where they of course talked about music, Riley’s upbringing in Alabama, his passion for the outdoors (and coffee), and his dating life. Riley and Theo both have a very unique sense of humor, and I thought it was pretty entertaining to watch them go back-and-forth. But apparently, not everyone was so amused… I have seen countless comments on the YouTube video itself, as well as tons of TikTok videos, about how people found Riley to be rude and full of himself, and the episode itself has gone pretty viral because of it. Here’s just a taste of the YouTube comments: “Nobody loves Riley Green as much as Riley Green loves Riley Green.” “Welp, all good on Riley Green content for the rest of my life.” “Theo, you’re a class act. This guy comes across arrogant and annoying initially, but you find a way to connect with him and get him to sound better so the convo can flow.” “Satisfying When Theo hit him with, ‘Get ready with me while I go be an a***hole somewhere.'” “What was the point of Riley purposely trying not to laugh at one thing Theo said the whole time????” “Riley’s one of them type of dude’s who purposely misunderstands, and tries to make other people feel dumb.. Didn’t know how much I didn’t like his vibe! – Good job handling that convo Theo.” “I genuinely can’t tell if Riley Green is a complete a**hole, or has the best use of sarcasm in the history of eternity.” “This dude doesn’t know what a joke is.” “Riley Green needs to be humbled.” “Oh he’s a DIVAAA.” “Strongly disliking Riley Green was not on my bingo card today.” There were quite a few comments defending Riley too, with many pointing out that he has a very dry sense of humor and it might take a minute to warm up to that if you don’t really know his personality. “Once you get deep into the episode Riley gives Theo his flowers. So he’s definitely a fan. Dude just has a personality that’s difficult to clock at first.” “Riley’s dry humor is throwing Theo.” “I’m confused by the negative comments, I love the banter of these two good ol boys. Thanks again for the laughs and positivity.” “I don’t get the Riley hate on this episode. Riley and Theo have a great rapport and I laughed the whole time. They have similar humor/sarcasm.” “You have to have had at least one friend in your life who was exactly like Riley Green. I have had several (I am 80) and that made me love this show. The sarcasm, BS, messing with each other, syncing up. teasing…it is so much fun to listen to and even more fun being a part of. Great show.” “Riley Green pulled the uno reverse on Theo a lot.” “Making fun of each other is how guys become best friends. I love Riley’s dry humor.” “Damn Riley came ready man holy s*** he’s quick and got jokes… next he should go on Kill Tony.” “Wasn’t expecting the sass from Riley Green. He had me cracking up.” I’ve met Riley before, he was super nice and down-to-earth. And as a team here, we’ve had him on the podcast a handful of times, collectively have a dozen personal interactions with him, and rude is certainly not how anyone here at company would describe him at all. Quite the opposite actually. I have never heard of him having any sort of negative fan reactions with people out in public as well. I do think he has a very dry, sarcastic sense of humor, and if that’s not your thing, then obviously you just won’t get it. But I thought they were both really funny, and let’s remember people… this is a comedy podcast and Theo is a comedian… I highly doubt he was personally offended by anything Riley said. They talked about going duck hunting together and hanging out in the future, and Riley specifically said: “I know that you’re as bad as me about scheduling stuff, but I’m not going through management to do it. So, I’ll just text you.” Sounds like a couple good friends who don’t mind cracking jokes at each other to me… I think people’s reaction to this whole episode just proves how sensitive this world has become. Calm down… it’s not that serious. That said, I do hope Theo gets a coffee maker for next time Riley comes on… You can watch the episode below and see what you think for yourself.
