Zac Brown Band extended their record last night by performing their 15th consecutive sold-out show at Fenway Park, the most consecutive sellouts for an artist in the iconic ballpark’s history. And to celebrate, Zac had a big surprise for everybody in the crowd: A free cruise. Before performing “Same Boat,” Zac Brown Band’s 2021 collaboration with the legendary Jimmy Buffett, Zac made the announcement that everybody in attendance would be getting a free Margaritaville at Sea cruise: “We’ve got a new music venue that’s on one of their cruise ships. … Tonight we’re going to do something that even Jimmy would say is crazy. I’m buying every single person here a cruise for two people on the boat. Every single person here gets a cruise for themselves and a loved one to go on the boat. Same Boat will be the largest music venue on the ship, with Zac saying last year when the venue was announced that his goal is to capture that “Margaritaville” spirit: “When we started talking about this partnership, I knew I didn’t just want to design a room — I wanted to create an experience that truly captures the spirit of Margaritaville at Sea. Designing Same Boat has been about bringing that easygoing energy that’s always guided my music to life. Every detail reflects pieces of my own journey — from the stage to the sea — all coming together to create a place where people can connect, share a drink, listen to great music, and feel that incredible sense of freedom you only find at a show or out on the open water. That’s my kind of medicine.”  The surprise cruise for the more than 37,000 fans is valued at more than $40 MILLION, the largest audience gift in the history of live entertainment. Margaritaville at Sea was founded as Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line back in 2016, but rebranded in May 2022 after the partnership with Buffett’s iconic brand. The cruise line currently operates two ships, the Margaritaville at Sea Paradise and the Margaritaville at Sea Islander, out of Tampa Bay and Palm Beach, Florida. Speaking on the gift from Zac Brown Band, Margaritaville at Sea CEO Christopher Ivey expressed his excitement to welcome the fans aboard the new ship: “We were honored to work alongside Zac to help bring this incredible surprise to life for his fans. This was an extraordinary way to thank the fans who have supported him throughout his career, and we’re proud to have helped make that incredible vision a once-in-a-lifetime reality.” And listen, I know there are people who say they would never go on a cruise, but let me tell you, they’re the absolute best way to vacation. Pretty much everything’s included, you get to visit multiple destinations in one trip, there’s something to do pretty much 24/7, and it’s way less expensive than an all-inclusive resort. I’ve been on plenty of cruises (albeit with other cruise lines at never Margaritaville at Sea) but I can confidently say that these people are in for a heck of a vacation.
