Rory is part Siberian husky (60%) and part German shepherd (40%). After a recent adoption‚ Rory’s new mom got her a special gift — a Kong Play Pack with several stuffed animal chew toys. As a rescue pup‚ these were her first toys ever. Rory wasn’t sure how to play with them initially‚ but she quickly picked it up. Sniffing each toy from the Kong collection‚ she showed very little hesitation. The rescue pup selected a little monkey wearing plaid pajamas and a sleep cap for her first toy. Acclimating a new dog to play and toys may be necessary. Such is the case with Rory‚ who had no comprehension of play‚ toys‚ and being treated well. Rescue agencies‚ fostering programs‚ and adoptive pet parents work steadily to place rescue pups in better homes.
