[VIDEO] Dr. Ben Carson Asked If Donald Trump Contacted Him To Be Vice President
Former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Dr. Ben Carson is among the names considered for Trump’s running mate in the 2024 presidential election.
Fox News host Maria Bartiromo asked Carson if President Trump has contacted him about being vice president.
“Has President Trump contacted you to be his VP?” Bartiromo asked.
“I don’t want to talk about what we’ve talked about‚ but we’ve talked about what we can do to save this country and that we will work together to make sure that America remains America‚” Carson answered.
“Do you see more support from the Black community for President Trump?” Bartiromo asked.
“Absolutely. I use to go to places and be the only Black face. Not anymore. Not by a long shot. And I think people are starting to recognize that the Trump administration was on the side of Black America. The things that they enacted were extremely positive. The opportunity zones. HBCU support. All of these things were fantastic‚” Carson responded.

The Washington Examiner reports:
Carson also criticized the current state of the U.S. government‚ specifically for “compromising” the U.S. Department of Justice and “using it to injure your opponents politically.” Trump has criticized President Joe Biden for utilizing federal agencies to attempt to halt his presidential campaign and hinted at doing the same to his opponents should he win in 2024.
“These are things that occur in China and Russia and Cuba‚” Carson said. “Those are not things that are supposed to occur in this country.”
The possibility of Carson being Trump’s vice presidential candidate was discussed by Donald Trump Jr. earlier this month‚ during which he said he would love to see a Trump/Carson 2024 ticket. However‚ he also stated he believes that Carson is “almost too nice for politics.”
Other potential candidates Trump is reportedly considering for his vice president include Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY)‚ Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake‚ and Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD).
