A little puppy with backwards legs couldn’t get around on his own‚ but unfortunately no one in his first home was willing to help him. Now named Phelps‚ the poor pooch has what is known as Swimmer syndrome. This malformation in a pup’s legs causes them to lay flat behind their body‚ unable to carry weight‚ according to Vetster. Although this disorder can be treated‚ Phelps was not getting the care he needed in his abusive home. Thankfully‚ rescuers were able to get the little guy out of this terrible living situation! Unfortunately‚ the poor little puppy’s legs were almost completely backwards. Treatment was still possible‚ but it was going to take a lot of physical therapy to get him walking on his own. He put his heart and soul into recovery as physical therapists used a variety of methods to help his muscles develop.
