Woman Gets Sentenced To Prison For Selling Ashley Bidens Diary

A federal judge in New York sentenced a Florida woman who pleaded guilty to stealing and selling the diary of President Joe Bidens daughter Ashley to a month in prison on Tuesday.Aimee Harris‚ a 41-year-old mother of two children‚ displayed despicable and consequently very serious conduct‚ said Judge Laura Taylor Swain‚ according to The New York Times.Swain sentenced Harris to one month behind bars a term she is expected to begin in July as well as three years of probation and three months home confinement. Harris was also reportedly ordered to give back the $20‚000 she earned from selling the diary.Prosecutors said Harris and aman named Robert Kurlander sold the property to an organization‚ identified as Project Veritas‚ for $40‚000 after finding a journal and other items belonging to Ashley Biden in a private residence in Florida in the weeks before the 2020 election.They previously tried to sell the materials to former President Donald Trumps campaign‚ but were rebuffed and encouraged to give them to the FBI‚ per court papers reported by NBC News.Harris and Kurlander pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property back in December of 2022. U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said Harris abused the administration of justice throughout the pendency of this court proceeding.Bloomberg News reported that Project Veritas did not publish the contents from Ashley Bidens diary‚ but the group is facing a federal investigationinto the matter. A Project Veritas spokesperson has said the groups news gathering was ethical and legal.Alleged pages from the first daughters diary got published by National File‚ which claimed they came from a Project Veritas whistleblower.Kurlander‚ who is 60‚ has not yet been sentenced.As noted by The New York Times‚ Kurlander has cooperated with the federal investigation and prosecutors requested a six-month delay on Friday.The news outlet also reported that Ashley Biden provided a statement to the court that described what happened to her as one of the most heinous forms of bullying.
