Scottie Scheffler‚ who is currently the top-ranked golfer in the world‚ said during an interview this week that he is not defined by golf‚ but by his Christian faith.Scheffler made the remarks when asked by reporters at his pre-Masters press conference in Augusta on Tuesday if golf is what defines him as a person.Hopefully‚ it doesnt define me too much because golf definitely is a selfish sport‚ youre out there by yourself‚ he said. And when youre at the peak of your game‚ people need stuff from you a lot of the time and you have to be selfish with your time. And its‚ its not easy to say no‚ but you have to learn how to say no to certain people‚ and because ultimately‚ we come out to the golf tournament‚ youre here to compete‚ and youre here to do your best. And you cant really get caught up in all the stuff thats going on around you.He said that he views golf as something he does which just happens to be a tremendously huge part of his life.But its doesnt define me as a person‚ he said. Its just something that I do. And I happen to be good at it some weeks.When asked to elaborate on what he thinks defines him as a person‚ Scheffler responded: I am a faithful guy‚ I believe in a creator. I believe in Jesus.
