Jamnagar‚ Gujarat in India‚ has a new wildlife rescue‚ and it’s HUGE. Vantara Rescue and Rehabilitation Center is Anant Ambani’s passion project. The sanctuary name‚ Vantara‚ means “Star Of The Forest.” To help you visualize the size‚ it spans 3‚000 acres and is four times the size of New York’s Central Park. Elephants are a large part of the animal population at Vantara‚ with over 200 currently on site. A dedicated 25‚000-square-foot elephant hospital has been erected to care for the pachyderms. The elephant hospital employs pathologists‚ biologists‚ veterinarians‚ naturalists‚ and nutritionists. They even have a large jacuzzi (elephant-sized) and hydrotherapy pools to help them work with arthritic elephants. The hospital can fully treat every possible illness or injury they might face.
