Kindergarten is a magical year of “school.” It is a transition from preschool to a structured setting. The year is a building block to acclimate students to learning so they can move up to first grade and beyond. One of the tools used to help students open up is when the teacher asks questions and writes the student’s responses. Alesha Catherine did this exercise with her kindergarteners to prepare for Mother’s Day. The 4- and 5-year-old students do not know their moms’ age. And that’s just fine. They’re kids and don’t need to worry about that. The answers were hilarious. Images from TikTok. Kids are notorious for saying anything that pops into their head. It is no surprise that some of the answers on these kindergarteners’ Mother’s Day questionnaires are slightly askew. Overall, the reigning thought after reading all the responses was how cute these kids can be. Almost every child conveyed feelings of love, care, and comfort within their answers. Image from TikTok. I remember a similar questionaire when my own daughter was in kindergarten. Teachers have been doing this in classrooms for many years. The answers never get old.
