The product being recalled comes in 25-ounce bags and are called “Arepas LA Mejor.” Although these chocolate corn pancakes are a popular breakfast, they can’t be consumed by those with milk allergies. Unfortunately, though, some of these products were mislabeled. As a result, they were sent to stores without an allergen warning. That’s why the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has classified this recall as Class I. In fact, this is the highest level recall possible with the FDA. The affected product, which was only distributed in retail stores in south Florida, will have a specific UPC Code: 8 37654 78238. You can also recognize it by the clear plastic packaging and bright yellow label that says “Arepas La Mejor” on the front. If you’re allergic to milk and consumed this product, it’s important to keep an eye out for symptoms. This is especially true of those that may need medical attention.
