Everyone lies, but some lies are dangerous.

In this episode of Survival and Basic Badass, Chuck and Kevin expose the subtle art of detecting deception. It’s not always easy to tell who's lying, but there are clear signs if you know what to look for. Liars often remove themselves from their own stories, avoiding words like "I" or "me." When accused, they double down, make grand promises, and then swiftly change the subject. You can spot them through noncommittal language"kind of," "sort of"and by their negative, evasive attitudes. Liars often hide behind vague, noncommittal language and use non-congruent body language, such as saying “yes” while shaking their head “no.” Their rapid eye blinking and avoidance of eye contact can also give them away. But here’s a pro tip: Watch their body language. Non-congruent gestures, like saying "yes" while shaking their head "no," rapid eye blinking, or avoiding eye contact are dead giveaways.
