					Crescent Pecan Pie Bars

Crescent Pecan Pie Bars- a sugary, crunchy pecan filling with a few chocolate chips on top of a buttery crescent roll crust. These holiday bars are fabulously easy to make.
Instead of having a lot of gooey filling like a typical pecan pie, the filling is a thin layer and the bars are almost like a nut brittle. Buttery and slightly chewy.

Crescent Roll Dough Recipe
I love a good crescent roll dough recipe and I almost always have at least one tube of crescent dough in my refrigerator. It makes a great recipe shortcut for everything from lasagna to breakfast casseroles.
To make the crust for this recipe, simply unroll a can of crescent dough (use a crescent sheet or a regular can and press on the perforations to seal) in a 9×13-inch pan and press the edges up the sides of the pan just a little.
Pre-Bake The Crust
Bake the crust in a 375 degree oven for 5 minutes. This is just to partially cook the crust.
Make Pecan Pie Filling
While the crust is baking, mix together the sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla, and an egg in a medium bowl. Then stir in the pecans and chocolate chips.
Bake
Once assembled these easy pecan pie bars take just 18 to 22 minutes in the oven.
How To Serve Crescent Pecan Pie Bars
Once the bars have cooled some, cut into squares. Depending on how large you cut them, you should get 9 to 16 bars. Serve warm or at room temperature with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
Variations
Add a tablespoon of bourbon to the filling.
Use walnuts in place of pecans.
Use toffee bits in place of chocolate chips.
Add a half teaspoon of almond extract.
Storage
Store at room temperature in an airtight container for 4 days.
