“Asking 4th Graders What They Think The Animals Said When Jesus Was Born”

‘Tis the season for love, generosity, and… saying whatever it is that’s on our minds. Okay, so maybe that last one isn’t universal. That said, it certainly applies to most kids. This is true any time of the year, really, but their candor can be especially funny around the holidays. A great example can be seen in a little girl who had some tea to spill on a boy in her class… Then there are the kiddos in Em’s class. As a fourth-grade teacher, Em is all too familiar with the way kids say unexpected stuff. And thanks to a clever coloring page she gave them, we get a glimpse at the kind of stuff she hears every day. The coloring sheet in question shows baby Jesus in a cradle, two animals looking over him. There are empty speech bubbles above the animals, inviting the kids to put their own words. See the funny results in the video below! @tinabelcherstan1 Not sure how to feel about these.. #fourthgrade #teachersoftiktok ♬ origineel geluid – Tik Toker 4th Graders Get Creative When Asked to Share What Animals Are Saying About Baby Jesus in a Coloring Book There is so much to love about these unexpected responses. For starters, there’s the kid who misspelled the word “cute,” resulting in an unintentionally humorous statement. Then there’s the use of the word “drippy” to describe Jesus. In case you didn’t know, this slang word is essentially used to describe someone as awesome or stylish. The only way this could get any better would be to have these kids look back at their own responses when they get older! “‘Our savior is born! Slay!’ needs to be on a t-shirt,” someone in the comment section of the video points out, with another person adding, “The range of handwriting neatness is interesting.” “No but can we take a sec to appreciate Mackenzie’s coloring?” a third person adds. “Like she’s actually better than me.” You can find the source of this story’s featured image here!
