Reports of Shrapnel Injuries Aboard Crashed Azerbaijani Embraer Plane Azerbaijani sources claim a passenger aboard the Embraer aircraft was injured by shrapnel while the plane was still in the air. In one video, a woman is seen with her leg outstretched, with what appears to be blood on the cabin floor. Passengers also reported shrapnel entering the cabin. Russian passenger Subhonkul Rakhimov recounted to RT that during the third landing attempt, an explosion occurred outside the plane, damaging the fuselage: “After this explosion, right between my legs - somewhere there - this fragment flew in and hit. It pierced the vest.” Footage shows visible holes in the fuselage, consistent with damage caused by air defense missile shrapnel. Earlier reports also noted damage to the wing during the flight.
