10 Unreleased Songs That Every Tyler Childers Fan Needs To Know

Timmy Tyler Childers... some would call him the best in the game. Over the past few years, Tyler Childers has emerged as one of the most compelling voices in contemporary country music, and really... all of music. Hailing from the hills of Eastern Kentucky, Childers brings an authentic Appalachian sound to his storytelling, blending traditional bluegrass with modern country influences, and yet, despite mostly telling stories that uniquely paint pictures of life in region, both in all its beauty and all its struggle, Childers has managed to capture the hearts of fans all across the country. Without an ounce of mainstream country music radio play or support, he manages to sell out some of the largest venues in some of the largest cities, anywhere in America... and make no mistake, city folks are going to those shows too. Not only does his music preserve the rich heritage of Appalachian culture but also pushes its boundaries, ensuring its relevance for new generations. Whether it's a soul-stirring ballad or an up-tempo, honky tonk twanger, Tyler Childers’ music resonates with anyone who appreciates heartfelt, authentic artistry. It's why his albums like Purgatory and Country Squire have stood the test of time. In fact, Purgatory is currently sitting at #180 on the Billboard 200 all-genre albums chart... an album that was released on 2017. Only the likes of Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen and Chris Stapleton have pre-2020 albums still charting right now. But here's the real kicker... Tyler has SO many great songs that have not, and will probably never will, make it into the studio. I'm talking albums worth of unreleased material, most of which that would wipe the floor with half the songs on mainstream country radio. And while most of us who have been riding with Tyler for over a decade now, since the Bottles & Bibles days, know these songs... Tyler has earned himself, and rightfully so, a TON of new fans lately. Ones who might not be so familiar with the deep vault of Tyler Childers tunes. So... that being said, here's 10 of my favorite unreleased Tyler Childers songs. Adam Taking it all the way back to 2013 with this performance, but whether it's "Matthew," "Joe," "Jane" or this one, "Adam," Tyler has quite the penchant for songs titled with a simple first name. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZ2z4JpJwWA&pp=ygUTYWRhbSB0eWxlciBjaGlsZGVycw%3D%3D The Wonder & The Why https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmU7DUMngxI 22nd Winter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koafo2uq1OM&pp=ygUadHlsZXIgY2hpbGRlcnMgMjJuZCB3aW50ZXI%3D New Circle Road https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0kYVt3QYcs Back Home https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCoUpUgu4Ho&pp=ygUYdHlsZXIgY2hpbGRlcnMgYmFjayBob21l Jersey Giant Most of us know this one... a fan favorite that has since been recorded by Elle King, Sam Barber, Josiah and the Bonnevilles, Evan Honer and Julia DiGrazia, and many more. Unfortunately, I don't think will ever see Tyler bring it back to the studio. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ObxBfdxhXdo Oneida Nothing like a song about loving on some older ladies... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBoQfiJEqj8&pp=ygUedHlsZXIgY2hpbGRlcnMgbmV3IGNpcmNsZSByb2Fk Her & The Banks He still plays this one from time to time.... it's become quite the fan favorite as of late. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzQX91iFZzs&pp=ygUgdHlsZXIgY2hpbGRlcnMgaGVyIGFuZCB0aHllIGJhbnM%3D Messed Up Kid An all-time classic in the wide world of Tyler Childers.
