Carrie Underwood To Perform At President Donald Trump’s Inauguration & Of Course People Are Now Vowing To Boycott Her Music

Guess she has some free time now that she's done with her Sunday Night Football intro for the season. Football fans (let's be honest, mostly dudes) were disappointed last week when they realized that it was the last time they would be seeing the now-iconic Sunday Night Football intro from Carrie Underwood until next season. https://twitter.com/SNFonNBC/status/1876075563833606620 But if you're missing Carrie already, you won't have to wait long to see her again. It was just announced that the country music superstar would be taking part in the inauguration of President Donald Trump next week, performing "America the Beautiful" along with the Armed Forces Chorus and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club immediately before Trump takes the oath of office to officially become the 47th President of the United States. https://twitter.com/MatthewFoldi/status/1878832238990897288 It appears that Carrie and opera singer Christopher Macchio are the only artists who will be performing during the ceremony, so it's no doubt an honor for the American Idol alum. Of course, as you can imagine, some of her fans aren't exactly thrilled that Carrie will be performing at Trump's inauguration ceremony: https://twitter.com/DisavowTrump20/status/1878844945672610200 Well I will never listen to her music e er again. ? — Suzie rizzo (@Suzierizzo1) January 13, 2025 Oh no! Why Carrie, why!? — Amit Divecha (@AmitDivecha1) January 13, 2025 No longer a Carrie Underwood fan. — ctw279 ??❄️? And back during the height of COVID, Carrie set off a firestorm when she liked a tweet from conservative commentator Matt Walsh speaking to his local school board opposing mask requirements for school children. Her husband, retired NHL star Mike Fisher, has also been a little less shy about sharing his political views, campaigning for Republican candidates and standing with Aaron Rodgers and opposing vaccine mandates back in 2021, releasing a passionate statement urging players to fight for their own medical freedom: “I stand with Aaron Rodgers. I believe in the freedom to choose what we put in our bodies and the freedom of conscience. I agree with him in that the science clearly shows the vaccinated spread Covid at basically the same rate as the unvaccinated. The NHL, NFL, and other leagues are ignoring the science and choosing to coerce and punish unvaccinated players with these restrictions. If they really cared about people’s health they would have daily testing for all. But these past 2 years has clearly shown us that this is not about our health, it’s about control over our lives. I won’t stand for that. It’s time to fight for our medical freedom and I feel for those that have been fired for choosing medical freedom. People losing their jobs over a medical choice is un-American and unacceptable. We need to stand up now before it’s too late!” So while it may be a surprise to some that Carrie is choosing to perform at the inauguration, it's shouldn't really be a surprise that the singer is a Trump supporter - and it shouldn't be a problem either, but that's just how the internet works. Somehow I don't think Carrie is going to be too bothered by it though... https://twitter.com/RGK0824/status/1878836082491748523
