Morgan Wallen's I'm The Problem Tour is already causing problems. Who would've thought? Just this morning, the country music superstar announced that he would be going on the road in 2025, and that fans could also expect his fourth studio album sometime this year. Both the tour and the album will be under the name "I'm The Problem," with the title track being released next Friday, January 31. But apparently the name for the album/tour/song has caused some uproar among one particular fanbase: Swifties. The soon-to-be-released title track of Morgan's upcoming album has already gone viral on TikTok, with the song finding Morgan going back and forth with a lover over who's to blame for their relationship going down in flames: "I guess I'm the problem And you're miss never do no wrong If I'm so awful, then why'd you stick around this long? And if it's the whiskey, then why you keep on pullin' it off the shelf? You hate that when you look at me, you halfway see yourself And it got me thinking If I'm the problem, then you might be the reason." Did anyone have a problem with him saying "I'm the Problem" in that song when it first surfaced in January of 2024? Nope. But now that Morgan Wallen is designing and marketing his whole tour and album around it, some have noticed the phrase "I'm the Problem" has been closely associated with Taylor Swift ever since she released the song "Anti-Hero." Even if you don't like Swift, you've probably had the lyrics "It's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me" stuck in your head at some point. Fans of the mega pop star - also known as Swifties - have already started calling out Morgan Wallen, implying that Taylor Swift has the right to the phrase and questioning why the country singer would build his whole tour and album around something that they're arguing Swift made famous: It’s so odd that Wallen names a tour after a MEGA HIT by Taylor Swift (Anti-Hero). “It’s me. No one artist owns the rights to a popular phrase, so it's very common for musicians and songwriters to overlap a bit when it comes to a series of words like "I'm the Problem." On the flip side, could Morgan have named his tour and album "I'm the Problem" in somewhat of a search-engine-optimization strategy? Who's to say, really? But that could certainly have played a part in it. I'm sure this will blow over soon enough... the Swifties are usually great about letting things go, right?
