Whiskey Myers Fans Think A New Album Is In The Works After Photos From The Studio Are Released
Sound the alarms... the boys are BACK in the studio.
For any music fan craving new music from their favorite artist, this is the kind of post you dream of seeing. And for Whiskey Myers fans, this post has been a long time coming. The East Texas southern rock and roll band has left fans hungry for new music since their last studio album, Tornillo, released in 2022.
While some might say Whiskey Myers has made fans hold out for new music, I simply do not think they had time to find studio time over the last three years. Have you seen their tour schedule? They are on the move for what feels like 365 days a year.
However, with the acoustic tour wrapping up right after the start of the year and with a break in their tour schedule until they hit the road again, starting with a performance at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, they have found some time to sneak in a studio session or two.
Before sharing that they were back in the studio, Whiskey Myers shared a few behind-the-scenes clips of how some of the hits off Tornillo were made. These throwback studio clips almost served as Easter eggs that they were working toward getting back in the studio.

Tornillo and their self-titled 2019 record were both self-produced. Guitarist John Jeffers told the Whiskey Riff Raff podcast that their confidence in self-production was higher when creating Tornillo than when they first attempted it on Whiskey Myers.
“We self-produced the last album, and then turned around and did another one, so we kinda kept the same groove we used on the last one, ‘cuz we were happy how it turned out.
You know, we went in with the same mindset on the white one was like, we’ll let’s go try to self-produce it, and if it sucks, then we’ll ask somebody to come help us. But we ended up thinking it didn’t suck, so we kinda just went in with the same mindset, you know?”
Could the group be gearing up to self-produce a third record? Sure seems like it.
While no announcement has been made about when fans can expect new music, the two posts highlighting images of Whiskey Myers in the studio imply they are working on new music and, hopefully, a new record.

Fans were overjoyed to see these posts, amped up at the possibility of new music this year. Right now, Whiskey Myers' tour schedule features only a few dates until summer when festival season ramps up and before they kick off their c0-headlining tour with the Tedeschi Trucks Band.

Hopefully, during this period of downtime, they can put their notes to the grindstone and deliver a new single or two this year to fans with the promise of a record in the works. Whiskey Myers has proven they are the kings of Southern Rock, so I expect them to take their time creating musical perfection with whatever they are cooking up.
Check out some of the replies left on their posts; fans are amped up.
"It's happening!"
"New music!"
"Happier than a midget at a miniskirt convention about new music!"
"Are we getting a new album?!"
"About to be their best work yet. I’m calling it."
"New album needed ASAP!"
While you're here, fire up one of my favorite covers they threw down during their acoustic tour, Bob Seger’s “Night Moves.”
