The View Caps Off Trump Deportation Talk By Remembering The Holocaust

The Trump administration kicked off its mass deportation campaign over the weekend, so, of course, the liberal ladies of The View had to clutch their pearls over it. After erroneously suggesting that the American people didn’t support it and unhinged accusations of racism, the ABC News programs capped off the segment my remembering the Holocaust. Unironically, it was moderator Whoopi Goldberg who read the script calling out the high number of people who could not name a concentration camp. Their show kicked off with ‘working-class’ hero Goldberg bragging about attending fashion week in Paris, France last week, before pivoting to the deportations. “Is this the immigration system fix that people had in mind when they voted do you think?” Goldberg cued the table. Pretend independent Sara Haines answered by actually admitting that the cast didn’t represent America. “Well, it's hard to tell at this table because no one voted for him,” she said. Haines called the deportations “disturbing,” but tried mock Trump by suggesting he wouldn’t be able to deport as many people as former President Obama did. She compared the deportations of Trump’s first few days to that of Obama’s top year. “[Obama] still remains the deporter-in-chief. Even if Trump continues at this rate, he will not even hit what President Obama hit in one year with 400,000, but the point here is that it's meant to be a PR campaign. So it's meant to scare people,” she chided. The deportation conversation concluded with fake Republican Ana Navarro calling on people to vote for Democrats in the midterms; and in the meantime, “we're going to have to wait two years of pain. So, if you want things to change get yourselves registered. Get yourself active.”     After anti-Trumper Alyssa Farah Griffin asked for clarification from Navarro on wanting legal residents to vote, Goldberg didn’t hesitate as she jumped right into talking about International Holocaust Remembrance Day FARAH GRIFFIN: It's important to clarify that. GOLDBERG: It is International Holocaust Remembrance Day which marks the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest, deadliest Nazi concentration camp where more than 1.1 million people were murdered. 80 years later, a study commissioned by the claims confidence [sic, Claims Conference], a global nonprofit that says secures – that secures compensation for Holocaust survivors, found that nearly half of Americans couldn't name a single one of the concentration camps where over 6 million Jews were slaughtered during World War II. They could have saved it for later in the show when they spoke with Democratic Senator John Fetterman (PA), since he’s a staunch supporter of Israel. What made Goldberg’s delivery of the outrage particularly hypocritical was that it was almost three years to-the-day that she proclaimed that “the Holocaust isn’t about race.” Between those silly moments with Goldberg was staunchly racist Sunny Hostin, who was busy calling the deportations and the focus on the U.S.-Mexico border “racist”: I don't think they [Asians] walk across the southern border. I think they come by plane…The Europeans who come here are undocumented, but they don't come across the southern border. So, I think there's a very clear message as to what this President wants the look of a criminal migrant to look like, what undocumented migrant – and I think that's racist. “I think absolutely there are certain people that wanted to see this kind of pain and destruction for a certain group or type of immigrant,” she declared. Of course, Hostin, who experienced chronic racial grievance, wouldn’t be aware of how illegal immigrants from China surged in 2024 and became “the fastest growing group” illegally crossing the southern border. It just didn’t fit her narrative. And without evidence or explanation, Hostin baselessly insisted that Trump had “circumvented established law by weaponizing the U.S. military.” “Instead of dealing with it legally that way, and I'm not saying he's doing it illegally, what he did was declared a national emergency that qualifies as a foreign invasion,” she added. So Sunny, did he break the law or did he not?
