Billy Ray Cyrus Finally Breaks Silence In Vulnerable Open Letter

After a disastrous performance at the Liberty Ball on January 20 celebrating the inauguration of President Donald Trump, many expressed concern for Billy Ray Cyrus. He appeared disoriented as he took the stage and stumbled through some of his biggest hits like Old Town Road and Achy Breaky Heart. Following the performance, Billy Ray’s son, Trace, took to Instagram to voice concerns about his father. He wrote in part, “I love you, Dad. We haven’t talked in a while but I’m over a year and half clean from alcohol. Guess what? I feel amazing…I don’t know what you’re struggling with exactly, but I think I have a pretty good idea & I’d love to help you if you would open up and receive the help. You know how to reach me. Till that day comes, I will continue to pray for you.” Billy Ray posted about the performance the following day, citing technical difficulties. He shared on Instagram, “I wouldn’t have missed the honor of playing this event whether my microphone, guitar, and monitors worked or not. I was there because President Donald J. Trump invited me.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Billy Ray Cyrus (@billyraycyrus) A Week Later, It Seems Billy Ray Cyrus Is Introspective About The Performance Billy shared a clip from his music video Somebody Said A Prayer, which stars his son Trace.
