Zach Bryan Teams Up For Reimagined Version Of “Rattlesnake” With Jack Van Cleaf

Another one. Today, Zach Bryan teamed up with singer/songwriter Jack Van Cleaf to release a reimagined version of Van Cleaf's original "Rattlesnake," which is a beautiful song Jack wrote with Maxx Marshall and first blew up back in 2022, pushing Van Cleaf to the forefront of the folk genre as one of the buzziest young stars. Zach and Jack recorded their new take at New York's iconic Electric Lady Studios, where Zach has recorded a lot of music in the past including his 2024 album, The Great American Bar Scene. Notably, this duet version of "Rattlesnake" keeps the production relatively similar to the original, though they did add more horns which I think really works and gives this song more layers, and I think I heard a light touch of steel guitar in there too. The song itself is right in Zach’s wheelhouse in terms of lyrical content, and even the production on the original, though we’ll see how similar they keep it on the final cut: “Losing touch in Tennessee Freedom’s got the best of me Goddamn my opportunities Goddamn this easy livin’ Gasping for the mountain air Crawling up the campus stairs My throne is an electric chair I’m stunned with indecision Hmm Pray for upgrades on my soul Tearing through an open road Questioning my moral code And screaming at a windshield…” Technically, Zach is featured on this song, so it's unlikely to be featured on any forthcoming project of his (which he's been teasing lately), but it's cool to see him work with a more up-and-coming artist like Van Cleaf and spotlight his music, bringing it to an entirely new audience. You can listen to it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmkUaiZv43A On Sunday, as promised, Zach released his own new song called "Blue Jean Baby" after the Philadelphia Eagles won the NFC Championship game... he also promised a new album this year, so stay tuned for more there: “BIRDS WIN. OUT AT MIDNIGHT. SEE YALL IN NEW ORLEANS. EP AND ALBUM BY THE END OF THE YEAR.” He also dropped a few songs at the end of last year, including “High Road” and “This World’s A Giant” and also confirmed in his conversation with Bruce Springsteen that he had a number of songs already written for his next album. More recently, Zach teamed up with Matthew McConaughey once again to announce a video project titled “Motorbreath,” that would capture a 2-week motorcycle ride with him and his best friends as they recorded “one final major label album.” “This is not a film about a band, this is a film about a boy from Oklahoma. A boy who joined the Navy, with a love of writing. That writing connected with people, a lot of people. This film is about a group of best friends taking a two-week motorcycle ride across America, while recording one final major label album. Oh, and the title of the film you ask? ‘Motorbreath.’” https://www.instagram.com/reel/DE121T3RKHX/?utm_source=ig_embed&ig_rid=57132b01-6223-4c84-a89a-3b0a2c4e62d7 "Blue Jean Baby" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4c3hb-r3Lik Zach Bryan Tour Dates Zach’s tour schedule is expected to be very limited this year compared to last year, and so far, ZB has announced only a few shows for 2025.
