As A Longtime Jonas Brothers Fan, I’m Offended By How Bad Their Song “I Dare You” With Rascal Flatts Is

What is this? Okay, something you should know about me is that I'm a diehard Jonas Brothers fan, and I have been since I was probably 10 years old... and yes, I had posters covering my wall, bought every album in-store the day it was released (remember those days?) so I do find myself to be pretty highly qualified to speak on this matter. Today, the Jonas Brothers teamed up with Rascal Flatts to release a song called "I Dare You," because apparently Rascal Flatts is officially a thing again, after announcing last year that they were reuniting for the first time since their split in 2020. Why these two boy bands teamed up, though? I have no earthly idea... The song is obviously a purely pop song, with shallow lyrics and a relatively catchy beat I guess, but I just don't foresee fans of either group loving this song... though maybe I'm wrong, because fans on the Rascal Flatts YouTube page left rave reviews. To be honest, I think the song would be so much better without Rascal Flatts (no offense), but they're largely irrelevant in 2025 and I haven't listened to their music in years... though I can certainly admit that some of their early hits like "What Hurts the Most" and "Life Is a Highway" are heaters. Many fans were actually upset they were teaming up with Rascal Flatts because they recently appeared at the inaugural ball for Donald Trump, though that's the least of my concerns because this song is so bad. Laugh all you want, but some of their older stuff is actually good, and I still go back and listen to it every now and then. I actually wouldn't mind hearing them team up with a country artist, like... say Lainey Wilson or someone who puts out solid radio-friendly country music. But this collab makes no sense to me, unless the JoBros are fans of Rascal Flatts from way back? I mean, what do their fan bases have in common at all? I don't know, but the song is offensively bad, and it truly pains me to say that because my love for them is so deep. I hate to be so rude, but I felt I had to speak out on this matter on behalf of Jonas Brothers fans everywhere who deserve better, because I know they can do so much better. I hate it for us, but I certainly will not have this one on repeat. I didn't expect to like it, but damn... it's worse than I could've imagined. Listen here at your own risk...
