Kacey Musgraves Has Simple Response When Asked About Beyoncé Winning Grammy For Best Country Album

If you don't have anything nice to say... don't say anything at all? Last night, Beyoncé took home the Grammy Award for Best Country Album and Album of the Year for Cowboy Carter, which was certainly a huge cultural moment, but after it failed to be nominated at many of last year’s country music award shows, many assumed that Beyoncé’s short stay in the country genre was going to end with nothing to show for it. She was up against some of the biggest, most respected names in country for the award, which also included Chris Stapleton with Higher, Lainey Wilson with Whirlwind, Post Malone and his debut country record F-1 Trillion, as well as her fellow Texan Kacey Musgraves with Deeper Well. Well, Kacey's reaction when Beyoncé's named was called caused quite a stir online, with many assuming she looked upset that she lost... personally, I didn't think that much of it and I didn't think she looked that annoyed, but you can see it for yourself here: Kacey Musgraves is pissed that Beyonce beat her for best country album, look at her face expression #GRAMMYs pic.twitter.com/AYT6v8UpZa — What's Da Bizness (@whatsdabizness) February 3, 2025 Kacey has spoken highly of Beyoncé in the past, been to her concerts, and there have been rumors for a while about the possibility of them working together... she's also a self-proclaimed queen of RBF so I really don't think there's anything more to her reaction. I'm sure she wanted to win, that's kind of the point, but I don't think it was any sort of personal issue between the two of them. Kacey even co-wrote some songs with INK for Cowboy Carter that ultimately didn't make it onto the record. But after Bey took home the award last night, a TikToker found Kacey after the show and asked her about her thoughts on Beyoncé's win, and she didn't have much to say about it... in fact, she didn't say anything at all, simply giving the camera a smile and a "thumbs up" before walking off: @filmsbyjosh0 Kacey Musgraves reacts to Beyonce winning Country Album of the Year ? #fyp #foryoupage #trending #viral #beyonce #kaceymusgraves #country #artist #musician #grammys ♬ original sound - FilmsByJosh It does seem like a bit of an odd reaction, but she was clearly on her way somewhere, so she might've been overwhelmed and afraid to say the wrong thing based on how so many people were making assumptions about her feelings already. Plus, who really wants to talk to any of these paparazzi types who follow you around with a camera? Like I said, I really don't think it's that deep and Beyoncé fans are probably reading way too much into it... but of course, ever after the thumbs up, fans ran wild with speculation once again: "If you don’t have anything nice to say you don’t say anything at all." "She’s got 8 Grammys including a AOTY already she’ll be alright." "Oh she mad." "Madddddd! She’s so MAAAAD!" "Say you’re mad without saying you’re MAD." "A polite, but sad girlie." "She can stay mad." "She’s BITTER." In her acceptance speech for Best Country Album, Beyoncé spoke about bending genres and how thankful she was to win: Beyoncé's speech as she accepted the #GRAMMYs award for Best Country Album. pic.twitter.com/2k1zYRVdjb — Beyoncé News (@BeyonceHiveNews) February 3, 2025 I'm sure Kacey will eventually be asked about it again, hopefully in a setting where she can give a full explanation and really talk about it, because you know what they say about assuming...
