Sturgill Simpson Announces ‘Who The F*** Is Johnny Blue Skies?’ Tour
Johnny Blue Skies on THE ROAD AGAIN.
Today, Sturgill Simpson announced an extensive headlining tour called the Who The F*** Is Johnny Blue Skies? tour, which will kick off in March and run through May.
He has several other headlining festival dates on his schedule vs well, but Miles Miller, Sturgill’s drummer, shared the news in a post on Instagram which will certainly have fans VERY excited, because he’s hitting tons of cities and is crisscrossing all over the country, along with a few international stops.
Stu released his Passage du Desir album as his alter ego Johnny Blue Skies in 2024, and embarked on his Why Not? Tour last fall as well.
It’s exciting to see him back out there, playing music and giving the fans the top-notch show they’ve come to love and expect from him… there’s no opener, either, and on the announcement graphic, there’s an important message:
“No openers. If you’re on time, you’re late.”
Don’t say he didn’t warn you…
Tickets for the newly-announced dates go on-sale on next Friday, February 21st.

He also recently appeared on Austin City Limits ,where he tipped his hat to Willie Nelson with “I’d Have To Be Crazy,” which was the final song on Sturgill’s debut record High Top Mountain but it was originally written by “cosmic cowboy” and Poet Laureate of Texas Steve Fromholz and made famous by, you guessed it, Willie Nelson on his 1976 album The Sound in Your Mind.
