Johnny Cash’s Former Memphis House Is On The Market For Under 500K

Wanna live like Johnny Cash? Well, you can… for a relatively reasonable price, by today’s standards. The former home of the Man in Black is now on the market for $495,000, and is located in East Memphis. Listed on Zillow, it’s a three-bedroom, three-bathroom, one-story home that was built in 1959, and has recently been renovated with a new roof and new appliances. Cash moved to Memphis, Tennessee in 1954, and sold vacuum cleaners to make ends meet, before ultimately recording his first music at the famous Sun Studio on Union Avenue. The rest, as they say, is history. Cash eventually moved to Nashville and became a country music star, as we all know. The home itself is pretty simple, for a country legend like Cash, and is relatively unassuming compared to some of the larger houses he would live in or build later on. Of course, this was in the very early days of his career, when he wasn’t making nearly the money he would later on… and still, I think it’s a beautiful home, with that cool retro look on the outside and nice upgrades on the inside. Not to mention, the cool iron front door, which is a really cool touch, in addition to all of the neat country music history that’s attached to the home too. It’s being listed by Pablo Pereyra, and the description is as follows: “Walk the line to your new home—Johnny Cash’s iconic place is now up for grabs! This Piece of Memphis’ History has been masterfully renovated with a NEW Roof, NEW Appliances, NEW Luxury Bathrooms (3), NEW Water Heater, NEW Granite Countertops, NEWLY refinished Hardwoods Floors, NEW driveway and sidewalk (did we mention is all new?!). SPACIOUS, and rather massive, 33x15ft primary bedrooms. All in one Level, with a bonus room. Conveniently located in cove entrance immediately of I-240 Exit. Don’t just visit the past—own it, with Johnny Cash’s former home.” I mean, sounds good to me… You can check out some of the photos below. 901, REALTORS 901, REALTORS 901, REALTORS 901, REALTORS 901, REALTORS 901, REALTORSThe post Johnny Cash’s Former Memphis House Is On The Market For Under 500K first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
