Last fall, Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton signed on to direct the fourth film. Last month, Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink joined the cast, causing a bit of rumor ruckus (as redheads in the Spider-world tend to do). And now the movie has a title. Holland, via recording, announced the name at CinemaCon, a convention for theater owners. According to Variety, Holland said, “I know we left you with a massive cliffhanger at the end of No Way Home, so Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That’s all I can say.” Screenshot: Marvel Studios That cliffhanger, for those who forgot, was pretty massive: To save the multiverse, Peter asked Doctor Strange to erase him from everyone’s memory. This is not the first time the phrase “Brand New Day” has been used in Marvel’s Spider-canon: It’s also the name of a 2008 storyline that sees Peter’s world get a huge reset. Said reset included bringing back some characters who had met their deadly fates and making a mess of Peter’s love life.
